The Analytics and Reporting team supports DaVita's Integrated Kidney Care (DaVita IKC). DaVita IKC is the renal population health management division of DaVita, serving approximately 100,000+ end stage renal disease (ESRD) and late stage chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients across the U.S. A key component of DaVita's integrated care strategy is our healthcare analytics team. This team is responsible for developing advanced data analytics and reporting solutions that help inform our clinical model of care, operations execution, and program performance.

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for leading the development of Tableau reports which are utilized as a key source for evaluating program performance and informing care model decisions. You will utilize your technical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills to understand business needs and translate these into technical requirements to develop efficient reporting solutions. In addition to this, you will play a key role in supporting and informing the team's approach to database structuring through creating and publishing data sources.

The BI Tech Lead will work with teammates across various teams ranging from peers, to clinicians and operators, to executive leaders. The environment is highly collaborative and team-oriented with a differential focus on both professional and personal growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Tech Lead must be able to work successfully with cross-functional teams and will be primary backend-facing development with occasional stakeholder management. The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive.
  • Reporting and Solution Development: Builds quantitative and qualitative data sets and used them to Create, maintain, and distribute reports related to clinical outcomes, surveillance, and risk mitigation on a regular basis
  • Utilize multiple computational languages, platforms and environments to mine and manage data in preparation for analysis and/or reporting
  • Provide clinical insights and data trends to support and inform a multitude of projects and initiatives across the organization
  • Present data to and work closely with a variety of stakeholders including senior-level operators and teammates in the clinics
  • Synthesize results in a non-technical manner to inform recommendations and next steps for leadership
  • Create cohesive presentations based on findings, summarizing insights from analysis
  • Act as a collaborative partner during strategy meetings
  • Become a subject matter expert and thought partner in clinical and methodologic areas
  • Willing to travel (up to 10% of time)
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • At least 5+ years of SQL experience required
  • Experience with BI tools required (Looker, Tableau, Business Objects)
  • Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint proficiency required
  • Python experience preferred
  • Reporting UX experience preferred
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree required; quantitative fields such as biostatistics, statistics, informatics, computer science, or math are strongly recommended
  • 3-5 years of prior relevant work experience required
  • Advanced critical thinking, strong work ethic, creative mindset, adept communication skills, attention to detail, design-mindedness, flexibility with change, comfort with ambiguity, efficient time management, technical aptitude, and business acumen
Communication
  • Create and maintain report documentation
  • Present and communicate reports to various stakeholders including executive leadership and clinical teammates
  • Succinctly and clearly convey findings from reports and analyses
Provide Analytical Support
  • Use Tableau Desktop, Tableau Prep, and SQL to perform ad-hoc analyses on a variety of data sources
  • Summarize and deliver unique insights on claims data received from payor and provider partners and operations/clinical data collected through EMRs

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum four years of experience with Tableau, Tableau Desktop Certifications Preferred
  • Very strong experience with SQL and relational databases
  • Strong experience with project management
  • Some experience with people management
  • Experience in all Microsoft applications
  • Experience working within SDLC framework
  • Experience in healthcare analytics preferred
