The Epic Senior Manager of Special Projects oversees a variety of cross functional areas for the CKD EHR team with an emphasis on internal team tools and process creation. This individual will work with various CKD EHR technical teams as well as shared services to establish and improve cross functional performance.

The individual should be a determined problem-solver who is able to gather information and feedback from various groups and work collaboratively to build out and improve processes. They should be able to balance the needs of the CKD EHR team, other areas within DaVita, and external customers. They should have a strong bias towards action while exemplifying DaVita core values.

General Information about the Epic CKD Team:

DaVita Physicians Solutions has established a partnership with Epic, the market leader in Electronic Health Records (EHRs), with the goal of maximizing physician satisfaction and improving the quality outcomes of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) patients.

The tools and support the team delivers are used by nephrology practices to manage CKD patient populations in promoting better outcomes and interoperability, while improving physician experience and aiding in revenue cycle practice management.

DaVita Physician Solutions CKD EHR by Epic, is offered to nephrology practices that are independently owned and operated. Many of these practices are smaller than typical Epic customers and value independence while leveraging the best available industry technology.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Financial and Contracting Support
  • Build process that ensures customers are billed for appropriate services
  • Routinely audit existing process and contracts to confirm adherence
  • Work with legal counterparts to review and advise on non-standard customer contract requests
Invoicing, Budgeting, Licensing and Planning
  • Work with Epic, other vendors, and finance to forecast and monitor ongoing costs
  • Monitor invoicing to ensure appropriate amounts are billed and paid
  • Oversee cost model and pricing reviews and estimates
Marketing, Case Studies, and External Collateral
  • Work with sales, customer success team, and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for new external marketing and case studies
  • Oversee support and updates of team website and internal pages
  • Oversee marketing and creation of external collateral
New Cross-Functional Process Creation
  • Work with internal teams to address pain points and create new processes where necessary
  • Transition process ownership to long term operational owners
Other duties as assigned
  • Plan internal team travel expectations and policy
  • Oversee internal team policy creation in collaboration with other leaders
  • Lead effort to standardize and consolidate internal tools
Education and Experience
  • 6+ years experience
  • Bachelor's Degree required
Knowledge and experience in the following areas preferred:
  • Epic Community Connect
  • Nephrology and kidney care
  • Project Management
  • Product management
Proficiency with the following tools preferred:
  • Epic tools such as Orion, Nova, and Sherlock
  • Asana
  • Target Process
  • Apptio
  • JIRA
  • ProductBoard
Knowledge and experience in the following areas preferred:
  • Contracting
  • Budgeting and forecasting
Excellence with the following tools required:
  • Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, and Sharepoint
Project Management Certification (PMP or CAPM) preferred.

Product Management Certification preferred.

Travel: Up to 25% for visits to customer practices, team meetings, conferences, and training

Nights/Weekends: Occasional nights and weekend work needed during onsite trips and to support urgent issues

Language Skills

Fluent in the written and verbal skills necessary to successfully perform the essential functions, duties, and responsibilities of the position.

Work Environment

Level III - Moderate noise (e.g., business office with computers or printers, light traffic). No required tasks involve greater exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues than would be encountered by a visitor. The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids or other hazardous conditions.
