We have a great opportunity for a Sr. Director, Special Projects on the Nephrology Care Alliance (NCA) team.
We believe that we can generate better clinical outcomes and total cost of care performance by working closely with nephrologists and other clinicians. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management, oversight and growth of the Nephrology Care Alliance (NCA), the nation's premier value-based care nephrology network.
This individual will continue the development of the NCA High Performing Renal Network by working collaboratively with Village stakeholders across Integrated Kidney Care, Legal, Compliance, Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Business Development to: 1) define DaVita's value-based care collaboration strategy with nephrologists and other providers at both national and local levels, 2) develop value-based care collaboration products with nephrologists and eventually other providers (e.g., Value Based Enterprise, Clinically Integrated Network, new product(s) TBD), 3) engage with nephrologists and other providers to support the growth of the NCA High Performing Renal Network, and 4) lead critical aspects of DaVita's CKD value based care strategy. This position will provide critical strategic and tactical leadership, counsel and direction to the team supporting the development of the NCA High Performing Renal Network. This position has budget and P&L accountability.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
VBC Collaboration Strategy with Providers:
- Responsible for developing DaVita's value-based care collaboration strategy with nephrologists and other providers
- Will develop the strategic vision and tactical plan to build local renal networks, starting with nephrologists and eventually including other providers (e.g., other specialties, primary care, health systems)
- Will develop a clear vision for who should be included in the network (i.e., which providers) and how this network will work together to deliver improved clinical outcomes and total cost of care performance
- Must be exceptional at highly creative problem solving and synthesis of high volume and variety of information as strategic direction will change frequently due to market feedback and success/failure
- Proven ability to execute as a highly organized operational leader
- Experience developing and managing team workflows and processes to accomplish goals
- Ability to delegate tasks and coach teammates to improve performance and ensure accountability
- Success working in highly matrixed environments - to be effective, this leader will collaborate with numerous stakeholders across DaVita while iteratively building strategy and product
- Possess strong value-based care knowledge; experience in nephrology value-based care preferred but not required
- Understanding of physician IPA and/or Practice Management structures preferred but not required
- Must remain deeply committed to winning; this individual will be relentless, able to work through an initial failure of a strategy or tactic, pivot and start again
- Develop and maintain a suite of value-based care collaboration products for nephrologists and other providers - these products are at the core of how we will build the NCA High Performing Renal Network
- Current products include: Clinical Incentive Program, CKCC Shared Savings Program, Value Based Enterprise
- Constantly evaluate the evolving nephrology value-based care landscape and seek opportunities to refine existing products and/or develop new products to align nephrologists around the objectives of improving quality and reducing total cost of care
- Ensure detailed documentation of associated policies and procedures
- Drive development and piloting of certain aspects of IKC's CKD Model of Care
- Define high performing network role in CKD Model of Care; work to integrate desired actions into current and future collaboration structures
- Collaborate with Payor Partnerships team to develop and implement CKD value-based care contracting strategy
- Partner with other DaVita stakeholders to bring the best of DaVita to the Nephrology Care Alliance
- Build and inspire the highest performing, most fulfilled team in the Village; scale to meet growth demands
- Relentlessly align strategy changes to strategy and product - not only embrace the pivot, but lead it
- Represent DaVita and NCA externally in partnership with NCA leadership, as an inspiring, visionary, execution-oriented leader for nephrologists
- Bring empathy for physicians while incorporating their points of view into product/service offerings
- Work effectively within DaVita structures
- Ensure strategy and product development activities are carried out in a manner consistent with DaVita's culture of compliance
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with providers consistent with DaVita code of conduct and Compliance Commandments
- Strong understanding of payor and federal compliance requirements
- 10+ years of experience in healthcare with a growing level of accountability over time.
- 3+ years of value-based care leadership preferred, with a particular interest in VBC strategy
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA, MHA or other Masters in related area strongly preferred
- Value-based care experience preferred
- MS Office proficiency, including high-level expertise with Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent presentation skills, both written and oral
- Travel 10%
