General Purpose of the Job

The Developer, IT Software (Lab) designs and develops .NET applications. Specifically, this position may develop applications using a combination of .NET technologies (e.g., C# and ASP.Net) and database objects (e.g., tables, triggers, packages, stored procedures and functions). This position also writes technical specifications, supports quality assurance tasks and assists with production support. This position reports to the Manager, IT Software Development (Lab)

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Assist with select quality assurance tasks, including test data preparation and defect root cause analysis
  • Develop modules for all application tiers using a combination of .NET and third-party technologies
  • Develop SQL Server and Oracle PL/SQL database objects
  • Write release upgrade documentation and develop conversion code
  • Assist with production support
  • Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience

  • 2 - 4 years' experience in software development
  • High School Diploma required.
Specialized Experience, Education, Training, or Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in the design and development of stored procedures, triggers and complex (multi-table) SQL queries (required)
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with web services (required)
  • Advanced computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (required)
  • 3+ years of experience in the design and development of C#.NET applications in an enterprise IT environment (preferred)
  • Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Software Engineering or equivalent years of experience (preferred)
  • 1+ year of experience using SQL Server and/or Oracle (preferred)
  • 1+ year of experience working with high volume and/or large datasets in both .NET and SQL (preferred)
