DaVita IKC delivers integrated care for patients with kidney disease, working across the healthcare spectrum to maximize patient quality of life. Kidney care patients are among the most vulnerable and medically complex chronic populations. Integrating care for them involves coordinating care before and during the transition to dialysis or transplant, as well as inside and outside of the dialysis clinic to achieve better clinical outcomes and improve patient quality of life. DaVita IKC's operations consist of clinical and non-clinical teammates fully dedicated to providing patients with the additional support they need to keep them healthy and out of the hospital.
About the role:
The Senior Analyst, IKC Operations Support will be part of a team accountable for clinical operations process improvement and leading DaVita IKC's high priority special projects, making this role instrumental in advancing DaVita's evolution from a fee-for-service to a value-based care world.
This position will contribute to and lead projects that develop, implement, and refine processes to drive clinical and business outcomes. Acting as an internal consultant, the Senior Analyst, IKC Operations Support leverages analytical and process improvement methodologies to lead, investigate, and solve complex operational and business issues. This role will:
- Analyze operations processes and identify strategic opportunities
- Support growth strategies, including new program launches
- Create and sustain new operational processes, including pilot design, implementation, performance measurement, and ongoing support
- Lead and support special projects involving improvement for patients and their care teams
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Analytics:
- Perform clinical process mapping to: 1) identify critical bottlenecks, 2) propose strategies to optimize existing or new clinical and operational processes, and 3) support implementation of new strategies
- Engage in market-backed development of strategic plans, operational programs, and communication campaigns, with stakeholder input and root cause analyses
- Perform ad hoc data analysis and reporting to support decision-making and performance improvement
- Convey qualitative and quantitative findings in a cohesive story, including identifying themes, summarizing insights and making recommendations to drive decision-making
- Build appropriate presentations and communications
- Proactively engage relevant stakeholders and subject matter experts to get input and support whenever needed
- Collaborate with and, in some cases, lead cross-functional teams to execute a strategic analysis, implementation, work plan, or other strategic initiatives
- Identify, communicate, and execute on new opportunities and key questions related to our business or team-related functions
- Find areas of opportunity by using subject matter expertise and building relationships with relevant stakeholders
- Build strong relationships and closely collaborate with teammates across lanes (leadership, clinicians, central and local teams) to drive clinical and operational results
- Performs other duties as assigned or required
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
- 2+ years of related experience demonstrating strong analytical skills, process improvement, and project management required
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Innovative, flexible critical thinker with strong problem solving skills
- Strong project management skills, including comfort with ambiguity and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to enhance relationships through strong and effective communication, problem solving, emotional intelligence, and thoughtful decision making
- Some travel required ( up to 25%)
- Experience in operations / process improvement, and/or healthcare analytics
- Exposure and experience working with process improvement methodologies such as BPM, Six Sigma and/or Lean
- Experience with data management tools (Excel, Access)
- Prior healthcare industry experience preferred but not required
- Consulting, corporate strategy, operations / process improvement, or healthcare analytics experience preferred
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office products
- 1 - 2 years of related experience demonstrating strong analytical skills, process improvement, and project management required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, and intellectual curiosity
- Prior experience working in a healthcare environment
- Consulting, corporate strategy, operations / process improvement, or healthcare analytics experience preferred
