Position Description
The Principal IT Architect's overall responsibility is to define the architecture for IT solutions specific to the business challenges. The Principal IT Architect, Data & AI must bring to bear a set of broad experiences and knowledge across data, AI, and integration to support key business initiatives. This role will be technology expert and use solution building blocks to define solution concepts and define architecture blueprints. In this role, this individual will need to collaborate and coordinate with various IT lanes like DevOps, Delivery, and Infrastructure to facilitate architecture, design, and delivery of scalable IT solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive.
- As the Principal Architect, Data and AI, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the data strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and overseeing the development of robust and scalable data-focused software solutions.
- You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, engineering, product management, and executive leadership, to define data policies and operating standards, drive innovation, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality solutions that help us to operate more efficiently and deliver value to clients.
- Develop and maintain the overall data & AI strategy and vision, in line with business goals and industry best practices.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the data & analytics teams, ensuring adherence to data architecture principles, AI policies and standards, and methodologies for adopting AI in operational processes.
- Collaborate with product management and executive leadership to define and prioritize GenAI initiatives, considering both short-term and long-term business objectives.
- Evaluate and select data vendors, AI and machine learning technologies, and frameworks that align with the vision and provide strategic advantage to the organization.
- Develop architectural blueprints ensuring the integrity and scalability of Data, AI, and machine learning systems.
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and reliable data solutions that meet customer needs and align with architectural standards.
- Drive innovation and keep abreast of emerging technologies, tools, industry trends, and best practices to continuously improve our data capabilities and maintain a competitive edge.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning among the technical and development teams, promoting cross-functional communication and the exchange of ideas.
- Proven experience in a technical leadership role, driving data strategy, and guiding data and analytics teams.
- In-depth knowledge of the use of data to support software development methodologies, architectural patterns, and best practices.
- Experience designing & building cloud native architectures in GCP cloud platform or similar platforms like AWS, Azure.
- Demonstrated knowledge in areas like infrastructure automation, CI/CD, SQL/NoSQL, Security, networking, and cloud architectures
- Strong knowledge in artificial intelligence and machine learning, both traditional and generative
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically while paying attention to details.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including technical and non-technical team members, executives, and customers.
Education, licenses, certifications, and experience required to fulfill the essential duties, include computer skills as required.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Data science, Software Engineering or related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in a senior architecture role, architecting complex enterprise solution either in a cloud environment or equivalent.
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in data and AI, with a strong focus on architecture, design, and implementation of large-scale enterprise systems
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience in architecting and designing solutions leveraging GCP technologies like BigQuery, Dataflow, GCP Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL or Spanner
- Proven experience in a leadership role, driving data strategy, and guiding data and analytics teams.
- In-depth knowledge of the use of data to support software development methodologies, architectural patterns, and best practices.
- Experience with the application of Large Language Models (LLMs) or Natural Language Processing and enabling those capabilities in cloud environments.
- Healthcare industry experience that fosters better requirements aligned to common standards and regulations (HL7, HITSP, NIST, HIPAA, ICD-10, and NCPDP) is preferred.
- Experience in driving solutions that map to the global target architecture, standards, and roadmaps in a distributed hardware, operating systems, and cloud computing
