The Manager, Patient Safety will lead efforts to enhance patient safety by overseeing both software and non-software initiatives. This role involves supervising analysts focused on patient safety support and managing broader patient safety improvement projects to further DaVita's Multi-year objectives. The ideal candidate will be a Registered Nurse, Registered Dietician, or Social Worker with dialysis experience and a Facility Administrator, particularly with experience in initiating facility improvements through Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) methodologies.

The Manager, Patient Safety Improvement must be able to think strategically, lead cross-functional teams, and can interact directly with both peers and executives across departments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Patient Safety Initiatives: Lead the development, execution, and measurement of patient safety projects, both software-based and traditional.

Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams (Patient Safety, Clinical Support, Operations, IT, etc.) to drive integrated patient safety strategies.

Quality Assurance: Apply QAPI methodologies to identify areas for improvement, develop action plans, and implement changes to enhance patient safety.

Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of patient safety projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic objectives.

Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze patient safety data, generate insights, and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards related to patient safety.

Communication: Create and disseminate clear, impactful communications about patent safety initiatives and outcomes to a diverse audience, including senior leadership.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN), Registered Dietician, or Master in Social Work preferred; Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in dialysis, with at least 2 years in a Facility Administrator or similar leadership role
  • Proven experience in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) methodologies
  • Experience in managing software implementation or support projects
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint is required
