DaVita is looking for a Dialysis Tech (PCT) to serve our patients at our Mid Ohio Dialysis Center in Ontario, OH.

- After training is complete and you feel comfortable in the role, this PCT position may float to our other outpatient clinics in the greater Mid Ohio area, within a 30 mile radius of your home clinic, as needed
- Schedule: M/W/F 4:00am - 9:00pm (Hours expected to increase to M-S in the future due to patient census growth)
- Shift differential for travel, paid mileage
- Compensation increases as you complete different levels of training and take on more responsibility!

- Paid training: Training may take place in a facility or a training clinic other than your assigned home clinic
- Float to various clinics during and after your training
- You must have a flexible schedule and be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- 25%: Receives patient into treatment/exam area; weighs patient, takes temperature and blood pressure pre- and post-dialysis; documents on all dialysis flow sheets. Performs and records vital signs and all other parameters of ESKD patients as per DaVita policy and/or state regulations; obtains blood samples and culture specimens and prepares for shipment.
- 25%: Under guidance of nurse and/or preceptor sets up and monitors dialysis machines and reverse osmosis ("RO") water system for correct functioning, responds to visual and audible alarms and makes appropriate adjustments before, during and after the dialysis treatment, performs safety checks as directed by the registered nurse. Dismantles, cleans and disinfects dialysis machines and equipment in accordance to DaVita procedures; performs appropriate end of therapy terminal cleaning and disinfection of the dialysis equipment with guidance of nurse and/or preceptor.
- 20%: Collects patient data and reports to nurse and/or preceptor as needed related to:
- Monitoring and documenting status of vascular accesses
- Documenting patient observations and seeks guidance when levels are out of normal range for ESKD patients
- Reporting patient parameters to registered nurse as needed
- Under guidance of nurse and/or preceptor initiates dialysis via approved accesses using proper cannulation or central venous catheter techniques in accordance with state, federal and local regulations
- 20%: Reviews dialysis prescription, notes general physical and mental condition of patient through observation and interview, obtains information and/or data to determine compliance to dietary or medication regimen; documents observations and reviews with nurse and/or preceptor.
- 5%: Performs clerical duties as needed and reviews with nurse and/or preceptor which may include: filing, lab requisitions, scheduling appointments, answering phones, ordering supplies, billing, copying, faxing, data entry and maintaining patient charts.
- You are reliable (we have an attendance policy), can handle stress really well, love to learn, have a desire to help people, looking for a career with a company you can grow with, comfortable with very early shifts and long hours on your feet, and love a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be comfortable working around blood and needles
- Must be comfortable mixing acid or bicarb
- Flexibility and availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
- Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet so wear comfortable shoes! Our work ends when it's safe for our patients.
- Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
- Health care experience preferred including: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.
