Senior Software Engineer - Code Analysis

Datadog’s Code Analysis is building the next generation of developer tools for our customers to deliver Datadog visibility and monitoring to their code base. We will use tools such as static analysis and vulnerability scanners to detect and prevent both quality and security vulnerabilities in code before they get into production.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Collaborate closely with our PM and Product Designer to iterate quickly on features and capabilities
  • Develop new infrastructure, services and workflows to support our growing product in a sustainable way
  • Lead technical effort to develop the architecture, patterns, and individual solutions to investigate and remediate problems
  • Own and drive relationships with major stakeholders, helping to prioritize on impact towards the team’s north starRepresent and evangelize the project across Datadog
  • Participate in a team on-call rotation to troubleshoot and solve issues with our tools

Who You Are: 

  • Experience building out robust customer-facing products made up of services, data stores and data streams prioritizing customer impact and sustainability
  • Proven ability to work closely with product and internal teams to architect solutions at high scale
  • You have significant experience in one or more backend languages, such as Go, Python or Java; and with different types of data stores, such as PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Redis or ElasticSearch
  • You understand the common industry patterns for ensuring high availability and performance in distributed systems
  • Passionate to work in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment providing leadership and direction for a highly technical team
  • You have experience with or interest with static analysis tools or an interest in this area 

Bonus points:

  • You've worked at high scale with systems like Redis, Cassandra, Kafka
  • You wrote your own data pipelines once or twice before
  • You have significant experience with Go, Java, or Python
