This role is vital to building the next-generation capacity planning platform, enabling automation and self-service capabilities for internal teams and customers. As a Capacity Planning Developer & Modeler, you will support the capacity planning lead by developing and modeling a new platform that offers an always-on, self-service, automated application. This platform will assist with capacity planning, performance optimization, FinOps, and predictive analysis to prevent outages. Your focus will be on ensuring the application is robust, user-friendly, and capable of handling complex capacity and performance data for real-time decision-making. This role will help application teams, our customers, be prepared for peak season as well as run their applications and infrastructure efficiently and optimally year-round.Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and model the new capacity planning platform, ensuring it is robust, user-friendly, and capable of handling complex capacity and performance data.
  • Implement automation and self-service capabilities to enable internal teams and customers to perform capacity planning, performance optimization, FinOps, and predictive analysis.
  • Enhance the platform's predictive analysis and performance features to drive proactive decision-making and prevent outages.
  • Collaborate with the capacity planning lead to design and implement solutions that optimize resource utilization and improve overall system efficiency.
  • Ensure the platform supports real-time decision-making by providing accurate and timely capacity and performance data.
  • Utilize ClickHouse as the database for efficient data storage and retrieval.
  • Develop data models to support capacity planning and performance optimization.
  • Create visualizations and dashboards using Tableau to provide insights and support decision-making.
  • Provide hands-on coding expertise in Python to develop and maintain the capacity planning platform.
  • Document processes and solutions, providing clear guidelines and support for internal teams and customers.
  • Stay updated on the latest technologies and practices in capacity planning, performance optimization, and predictive analysis, continuously seeking ways to improve operations and contribute to innovation within the team.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the capacity planning platform, providing expert guidance and solutions to enhance performance.
  • Participate in project meetings, providing technical oversight and contributing to the successful delivery of the capacity planning platform.
Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in capacity planning, performance optimization, and predictive analysis.
  • Strong proficiency in Python for developing and maintaining the capacity planning platform.
  • Expertise in data modeling and using ClickHouse as the database.
  • Experience with Tableau for creating visualizations and dashboards.
  • Experience with automation and self-service capabilities for capacity planning and performance optimization.
  • Solid understanding of FinOps principles and practices.
  • Strong analytical skills, with a focus on delivering actionable insights and improvements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with diverse teams.
  • Experience with modern development tools and practices, including version control, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and agile methodologies.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or equivalent work experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience).
Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:$106,605.00 - $284,280.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
