Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Manager to lead Strategic Initiatives within Clinical and Government Services Operations Technology organization. This role involves managing a diverse team of 5-7 individuals responsible for driving key initiatives, ensuring end-to-end ownership, maintaining alignment with organizational goals, and guaranteeing intended value is achieved. This leader will partner closely with PA Operations, Information Technology (IT) Development, IT Support, Process Innovation, Product, Finance, HR, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Analytics & Behavior Change (A&BC), ePA Vendors, and other partners. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities while fostering cross-functional relationships and developing team capabilities.

  • Oversee a team responsible for strategic technology initiatives focused on Prior Authorization and clinical innovation, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Maintain end-to-end ownership throughout project lifecycles, ensuring seamless execution and delivery.
  • Contributes in business case discussions and has clear understanding of methodology used for strategic initiatives return on investment calculations
  • Creates key performance indicators to measure output and inform the decision-making process.
  • Track and report on the value generated from projects, implementing mitigation plans when intended outcomes are not met
  • Build and nurture cross-functional relationships to facilitate collaboration
  • Develop and mentor team members to enhance key competencies necessary for success in their roles
  • Controls a network of information-sharing to ensure transparency and communication across the organization that is inclusive of project progress and outcomes
  • Own the roadmap for strategic initiatives, ensuring it aligns with the broader CAS and MHK roadmap
  • Contribute in the vetting of new ideas that come through the intake process and assign project owners accordingly
  • Oversee OKR (Objectives and Key Results) reporting for strategic initiatives, ensuring transparency and accountability
  • Participates in change management to ensure proper rollout to end users
  • Adopt a system-oriented mindset to find synergies across projects and initiatives, promoting efficiency
Required Qualifications
  • 5-7 years work experience
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with a track record of influencing, motivating and creating successful teams
  • Adept at execution and delivery (planning, delivering, and supporting) skills
  • Adept at collaboration and teamwork
  • Mastery of problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Mastery of growth mindset (agility and developing yourself and others) skills
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences, including executives
  • Independent and self-motivated
  • Experience with OKR frameworks and project budgeting
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of pharmacy prior authorization process and workflows
  • Familiarity with Electronic Prior Authorization Workflow
  • Familiarity with CVS Caremark's PA Products - CAS, Medhok, and Novologix
Education
  • Bachelor's degree preferred/specialized training/relevant professional qualification.
Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$67,900.00 - $149,328.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
