Position Summary

The Enterprise Strategy team is responsible for helping steward the development of the company's long-term strategy and associated priorities, connecting each business unit to those priorities, exploring white space opportunities for growth, and connecting the dots across businesses to accelerate existing revenue streams. Our team has a unique opportunity to sit on the cutting edge of CVS Health's future aspirations and enable our future strategy, specifically in pharmacy, health services, and technology. The Sr. Manager, Enterprise Strategy will play a pivotal role supporting new growth initiatives and enabling execution of key strategic priorities. You will operate within a nimble team dedicated to top priority strategic initiatives with executive leadership visibility. You will closely partner with business stakeholders across our core businesses, including Pharmacy & Consumer Wellness, Health Care Benefits and Health Service. This role requires comfort in working with ambiguity, as our team strives to create simplicity within complex, cross-functional strategic challenges. You will utilize market insights alongside CVS-focused expertise to help chart the path forward for a vertically integrated health care company.

The Enterprise Strategy team is looking for a dynamic and creative team member who is passionate about driving change across the healthcare industry and improving health outcomes. This role is a great fit for an out-of-the-box thinker who is intellectually curious, self-motivated, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and high-energy who can easily function in a demanding, rapidly evolving business and organizational environment. This role is an excellent opportunity for mentorship and personal development from a senior team of highly experienced industry experts.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Drive identification and development of new growth and integrated value opportunities, including scanning market developments, remaining current on healthcare and consumer trends, and tracking new innovation and potential disruptors
  • Lead key qualitative and quantitative analyses, including developing business cases, creating cohesive storylines and actionable recommendations to deliver value to our customers, clients, and shareholders
  • Manage and drive high priority special projects
  • Support enterprise strategic planning process
  • Effectively synthesize insights and develop materials to support senior executive-level decision-making, both within existing CVS Health business units and across the Enterprise
  • Conduct market research and competitive intelligence, utilizing internal and external sources, to inform strategic recommendations
  • Collaborate across the Enterprise Strategy team and with business partners across CVS, building strong relationships and effectively partnering with Finance and Operations stakeholders to translate strategy into execution
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in a dynamic, fast-moving profession; related experience within management consulting, corporate development, financial analysis, public policy, product development, mergers and acquisitions, or similar role(s)
  • Expertise in storyboarding and logically framing presentations, both in written deliverables and in facilitating live discussions
  • Executive presence: demonstrated ability to actively listen, empathize, and communicate effectively
  • Comfort in ambiguity; demonstrated ability to simplify complex problems and concepts
  • Comfort working in a matrixed environment and in managing competing priorities; demonstrated ability to juggle concurrent projects and prioritize effectively
  • Ability to "manage up", influencing internal and external partners, often more senior in job title
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of payor, provider, and product segments of the healthcare and pharmacy industry
  • Growth mindset and commitment to deepening expertise across the healthcare industry
  • Demonstrated ability developing analysis, presentations, and supporting material to successfully implement strategy or change management initiatives
  • Experience building and evaluating financial models
Education
  • BA/BS degree required or equivalent professional work experience
  • MBA preferred
Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$82,940.00 - $182,549.40

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
