CVS Caremark is seeking a Senior Decision Scientist to play a pivotal role in enhancing the accuracy of our underwriting processes through advanced analytics. In this key position, you will leverage your analytical expertise to conduct error attribution and advanced root cause analysis, providing actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify business opportunities through data-driven insights and develop high-impact analytical solutions.
  • Independently explore data and create a structured analytical work plan to derive meaningful insights.
  • Formulate, execute, and analyze hypotheses to pinpoint factors contributing to forecasting errors.
  • Define, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) that align with portfolio objectives to measure project success.
  • Communicate analytical solutions and results through compelling narratives and visualizations, engaging stakeholders to drive informed business decisions.
  • Drive project execution in collaboration with cross-functional teams, including data engineering and data science, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
  • Understand coding, GIT, documentation, and quality assurance best practices.
  • Present actionable recommendations to senior leadership and internal clients.
Qualifications:

Required:

3+ years of experience in business analytics, analytical or strategy consulting, or a related field, with a proven ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python (Pandas) with 3+ years of professional experience.
  • Strong statistical background with experience in experimental design and ROI analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred:
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, particularly in PowerPoint.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Solid SQL coding skills are essential.
  • Experience in the PBM industry and/or management consulting is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Tableau is advantageous.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, or a related field is required.
  • A Master's degree in a quantitative field or an MBA is strongly preferred.

The typical pay range for this role is:$83,430.00 - $203,940.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.Our people fuel our future.
