Position Summary

  • The chosen candidate will be involved in various aspects of performance engineering and testing of Enterprise class applications. They will work with aligned developers, business owners, and architects to obtain application usage model data, data profiles, and test data for script development, calibration, and execution. The individual should have deep knowledge about best coding & design practices and understand ways to write proficient & performance-oriented code.

  • Creating performance and availability scripts for assorted domain applications utilizing Java, and JMeter primarily.
  • Build performance testing processes and procedures that can be used across the enterprise for effective testing of all applications running on varied technical platforms.
  • Designing and performance test planning for the Cloud based applications on Microsoft Azure and GCP.
  • Utilizing Performance tools to design, create, and execute performance tests on Enterprise class applications.
  • Producing performance test result data with thorough analysis of the results and provide recommendations to aligned application areas and management.
  • Utilizing APM monitoring tools to identify performance bottlenecks.
  • Performing technical troubleshooting / diagnostic analysis of system defects and conducting impact analysis.
  • Identifying performance improvement opportunities within the Java code base, prototype alternatives, and assist in implementing proven solutions.
  • Reviewing code for thread safe, code quality, and security violations.
  • Performing Heap Dump and Thread dump analysis
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience on Application Performance engineering and Tuning on Java based application.
  • 5 years of hands-on experience in performance testing for the Cloud based applications on Microsoft Azure and GCP.
  • 5 years of experience of any version management tool like GitHub
  • Having working experience on Heap dump and Thread dump analysis
  • Having working experience on Log monitoring tool Splunk , dash board creation , and log analysis .
  • Understanding performance testing (like CPU Utilizations, Response time, network latency, think time etc.).
  • Having working experience on App Dynamics ( Application performance monitoring tool)
  • Having good working experience on Core Java
  • Having worked on Unix commands and shell scripting.
  • Having Good working experience on JMeter development and script recording
  • Hands on experience on Web Services implementation (Apache Cxf or any other)
  • Having knowledge of Oracle technologies (Understanding of Query plans, AWR Reports etc.)
  • Exposed to Basic Database Design, Sql Queries
Knowledge of:
  • Having knowledge of Java/J2EE technologies.
  • Having knowledge of Performance Engineering concepts.
  • Having knowledge of oracle technologies Oracle 19c and PL/SQL
  • Understanding of version management tool Github.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of healthcare business
  • Have worked on HP Load runner tool
  • Overall understanding of current service capacity and trends of the application baseline and future growth
  • Knowledge of strategic business plans including major technology transformation programs and business releases
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies
Education
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field required or equivelant experience
  • Masters Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$101,970.00 - $203,940.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
