We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior HSE Manager to oversee environmental real estate matters for new and existing properties, including remediation projects located across the United States. This role will be instrumental in ensuring compliance, managing risks, and driving environmental sustainability for our diverse property portfolio. The successful candidate will oversee critical programs, including the company-wide asbestos management program, and provide expertise on environmental due diligence, remediation, and compliance. Candidates with Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) certification or equivalent are strongly preferred.The Senior Manager will have thorough knowledge and working understanding of major federal, and state environmental regulations related to asbestos management, brownfield redevelopment, contaminated properties clean-up, building materials, RCRA and property transfer laws. This Senior Manager will also have thorough knowledge of remediation technologies and applicability to site conditions. They will independently interact with business partners and external vendors to identify environmental conditions that require attention and develop plans to manage that risk. They will additionally lead cross-functional project teams on department-wide projects and lead, manage and drive these projects to completion.Key Responsibilities:
1. Environmental Real Estate Oversight:
• Lead the evaluation, management, and mitigation of environmental risks across the company's real estate portfolio.
• Oversee environmental due diligence for acquisitions, divestitures, leasing, and other real estate transactions.
2. Asbestos Program Management:
• Manage the company-wide asbestos program/process, including identification, abatement, compliance, and colleague training.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local asbestos regulations.
3. Remediation and Site Management:
• Oversee remediation efforts for contaminated properties, including site assessments, corrective actions, and regulatory reporting.
• Provide strategic direction and technical oversight for projects involving soil, groundwater, and building material contamination.
4. Regulatory Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations (e.g., CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA).
• Serve as the primary liaison with environmental regulatory agencies and consultants.
• Stay abreast of changing environmental regulations and ensure company policies remain aligned.
5. Stakeholder Collaboration:
• Partner with legal, risk management, real estate, and facilities teams to support sustainable and compliant real estate operations.
• Provide environmental expertise to internal stakeholders to support decision-making and risk mitigation.
• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
6. LSRP Certification Expertise (or Equivalent):
• Utilize LSRP (or equivalent) credentials to guide environmental remediation projects.In order to be successful in this role you must exhibit the following:
• Exceptional project management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
• Proven leadership and team development abilities.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex environmental issues to diverse audiences, including senior executives and regulators.Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience in environmental management, real estate, or a related field with expertise in:
Asbestos management, environmental remediation, and real estate due diligence.
Federal, state, and local environmental regulations and reporting requirements.
Ability to travel up to 20%Preferred Qualifications
Active Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) certification or equivalent (e.g., PE, PG, CHMM).
Experience in a Fortune 500 or similarly complex corporate environment.
Experience managing budgets for environmental programs and projects.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or a related field required or equivalent years of related experience.Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:$82,940.00 - $199,144.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
