We are searching for a data scientist with both strong theoretical knowledge and practical experience with deep learning algorithms and models. Our team, "Pricing and Product Analytics," uses AI techniques to support actuarial/underwriting organization to improve Aetna's Health Insurance Pricing business. Our purpose is to solve complex healthcare cost issues using the latest technologies and data science innovations to provide the most fair and commensurate healthcare services. This position requires deep hands-on experience on building AI/ML and analytics models.Responsibilities:
  • Participates in the development, validation and delivery of ML/DL algorithms and reporting tools
  • Owns, maintains, and enhances existing predictive solutions and models
  • Performs analyses of structured and unstructured data to solve multiple and/or complex business problems utilizing advanced statistical techniques and mathematical analyses
  • Collaborates with business partners to understand their problems and goals and be able to translate business requirements into predictive models, statistical analysis, and/or data reports
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of work experience with SQL, Python, GitHub, and proficiency in most areas of mathematical analysis methods; advanced SQL skills and experience is needed to design complicate data pipeline with SQL for model training
  • In-depth experience with machine learning libraries TensorFlow, PyTorch and Scikit-learn to provide prediction/explanation solutions for business needs
  • Fluency with Python object-oriented programming to design model architecture and framework for fast iteration
  • Ability to take initiatives and independently problem solve, ideate, and work with limited guidance
  • Has both hands-on and theoretical knowledge of major machine learning solution pipelines.
  • Possesses exceptional experience and expertise in deep neural networks.
  • Demonstrates a strong ability to design, implement, and optimize advanced ML models.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Good knowledge of optimization algorithms and hands on experience with DL algorithms
  • Experience working with Google Cloud services environment, specifically with Vertex AI and has GCP's Professional Machine Learning Engineer certificate
  • Experience with large scale data assets
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Enjoys translating state of the art research papers to code
  • Experience working with cloud environment, specifically with building data pipeline with Bigquery, model training and deployment in Vertex AI
  • PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Statistics, Econometrics, Machine Learning

  • MS/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Statistics, Econometrics, Machine Learning

The typical pay range for this role is:$92,700.00 - $222,480.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.Our people fuel our future.
