Position Summary

The Senior Data Engineer will join the Data Management Development Team at CVS Health. Their mission is to simplify the collection, management, and dissemination of data to and for our consumers at a speed that exceeds expectations while maintaining exceptional security, quality, and integrity. To insure this, the Senior Data Engineer will help optimize data processing and query performance by fine-tuning data pipelines, database configurations, and data partitioning strategies.

The right candidate will also implement security measures to protect sensitive data throughout the data lifecycle by working closely with security teams to ensure data encryption, access controls, and compliance with data protection regulations. The Senior Data Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, software engineers, and business stakeholders as well.

What you will do
  • Ensure seamless integration of data from different sources, such as databases, application programming interfaces (APIs), or streaming platforms
  • Establishes data quality checks and validations to identify and resolve data issues, ensuring high-quality and reliable data for downstream applications and analytics
  • Design and develop data infrastructure, including data warehouses, data lakes, and data pipelines
  • Establishes auditing and monitoring mechanisms to track data access and maintain data governance standards
  • Establishes monitoring and alerting mechanisms to identify bottlenecks, latency, or failures, and troubleshoots data-related problems, investigates root causes, and implements remediation measures
  • Explore new frameworks, platforms, or cloud services that can enhance data processing capabilities
  • Leverages devesecops practices
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years experience in data engineering
  • 2+ years experience with DataStage
  • 1+ years experience with 24x7 on-call participation approximately every 6 weeks
  • Adept at business intelligence
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with db2
  • Experience with Python, SQL Server
  • Experience with Windows and Linux
  • Agile experience
Education
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (High School Diploma and 4 years relevant experience)
Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$101,970.00 - $203,940.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
