This position is a Commercial role that supports the Middle Market Fully Insured Actuarial for the Southeast region. In this role, you will primarily support the Georgia/Gulf and MidSouth markets. You will collaborate with the market actuaries and the business partners to optimize persistency and gross profit for the region. You will also be exposed to the underwriting and segment performance reporting.

  • Work with several business functions (Sales, Finance, Underwriting, Medical Management, Network, Contracting, Product) to develop the best estimate rate actions while practicing pricing discipline
  • Partner with the Rate Review, Forecasting, and Select Block Check teams to incorporate market specific assumptions and dynamics
  • Perform actuarial functions by applying expanded quantitative and analytic skills through experience studies and competitive intel
  • Become the Subject Matter Expert in various data warehouses and the Actuarial voice for our business partners
  • Communicate clearly to various audiences including non-technical individuals and senior management
  • Streamline processes and further identify and implement best practices
Required Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience in an Actuarial or analytical role.
  • Minimum 1-2 actuarial exams passed
  • Demonstrate understanding of complex actuarial functions as well as market specific dynamics
  • Take full ownership of various assignments and be able to work independently with limited guidance
  • Strong technical, analytical, time management skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with large and detailed data sets: Higher level Excel, SQL, VBA
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with commercial medical product
  • Actively working towards ASA designation
  • Ability to thrive in a constantly evolving environment with competing priorities and deadlines

  • Bachelor's degree

The typical pay range for this role is:$72,100.00 - $158,620.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.Our people fuel our future.
