This position is a hybrid role in a designated Aetna office.#AetnaActuary
- Lead the process of setting large claim accruals for each monthly financial close establishing the monthly accrual schedule and deliverables.
- Coordinate efforts of teammates and the communication with business partners in Medical Claims Management, Claim Operations, Finance, and our Medical Economics Unit to incorporate feedback into our Large Claim Accruals or LCAs.
- Leverage Excel VBA and SQL to summarize initial and final reserve estimates used to assess financial performance.
- Dive deep into the data to derive answers to questions about LCAs.
- Communicate results and proposed changes to actuarial leadership.
- Design and execute periodic studies to improve our default estimates for LCAs as well as provider discounts to apply to billed large claims.

- Must have passed a minimum of two actuarial exams.
- 2+ years of experience in a professional environment
- The ideal candidate is someone with the drive to learn and apply the latest actuarial techniques.
- Demonstrates a high level of personal drive, ownership, organization, technical acumen, and communication.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines for the monthly financial close
- Fundamental technical, analytical, and communication skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- SQL and VBA coding skills along with model building experience
- Demonstrated ability to manage and improvement processes.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or another related field preferred

The typical pay range for this role is:$72,100.00 - $158,620.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.Our people fuel our future.
