- Private Cloud Strategy & Architecture
- Lead the design and development of private cloud infrastructure solutions to improve scalability, performance, and operational efficiency.
- Develop a long-term strategy for private cloud adoption, including on-premise infrastructure and hybrid cloud integration.
- Ensure infrastructure aligns with business objectives, leveraging industry best practices and emerging technologies.
- Establish private cloud standards, governance, and operational models for consistent delivery.
- Compute Infrastructure - Private Cloud
- Architect virtualized compute solutions leveraging technologies like VMware vSphere, Nutanix, or OpenStack.
- Optimize private cloud compute resources for reliability, performance, and scalability.
- Integrate high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies into compute designs.
- Private Cloud Networking
- Design and implement SDN (Software Defined Networking) solutions to enable flexible, programmable network architectures.
- Develop overlay and underlay networking strategies to enhance private cloud connectivity.
- Implement hybrid network solutions to securely integrate on-premises private cloud with public cloud platforms.
- Storage Infrastructure in Private Cloud
- Architect private cloud storage solutions, including software-defined storage (SDS), to optimize performance and redundancy.
- Design scalable backup, recovery, and data protection solutions.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise storage policies and disaster recovery requirements.
- Private Cloud Security
- Define and implement private cloud security controls, including segmentation, firewalls, micro-segmentation, and intrusion detection/prevention.
- Enforce identity and access management (IAM) policies for private cloud resources.
- Ensure regulatory compliance (HIPAA, PCI DSS) within private cloud infrastructure.
- Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Leverage IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet) to automate private cloud infrastructure provisioning and configuration.
- Promote self-service capabilities for infrastructure resources through automation and orchestration.
- Drive infrastructure lifecycle automation for monitoring, scaling, and patching.
- Monitoring & Observability
- Implement advanced monitoring and observability tools to gain insights into private cloud infrastructure performance.
- Develop frameworks for predictive monitoring, log analysis, and capacity planning.
- Collaboration & Leadership
- Collaborate with enterprise architecture, operations, and application teams to deliver private cloud solutions that align with business goals.
- Mentor infrastructure teams and provide technical leadership on private cloud best practices.
- Advocate for continuous improvement in private cloud capabilities and processes.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of infrastructure architecture experience, with 5+ years specializing in private cloud environments.
- Demonstrated success in designing, implementing, and scaling private cloud solutions.
- Strong understanding of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, KVM) and software-defined infrastructure.
- Compute: Expertise in virtualized environments, hypervisor optimization, and private cloud compute scaling.
- Network: Proficiency in SDN, overlay networking, and hybrid connectivity (MPLS, SD-WAN).
- Storage: Deep understanding of SDS, SAN/NAS, and backup solutions for private cloud.
- Security: Experience implementing network segmentation, micro-segmentation, and security compliance in private cloud.
- Automation: Hands-on experience with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.) and orchestration platforms.
- Monitoring: Knowledge of private cloud monitoring solutions like Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk.
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud models integrating private cloud with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to stakeholders across the organization.

The typical pay range for this role is:$144,200.00 - $288,400.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
