Manages day-to-day operations of pharmacy support staff by providing strategic leadership and oversight for pharmacy support operations. Develops and implements operational strategies, establishes performance metrics, and drives process improvements to contribute to strategic decision-making regarding pharmacy support initiatives and goals. Collaborates with stakeholders, such as pharmacists and healthcare providers, to ensure effective communication, efficient workflow coordination, and adherence to quality and safety standards. Fosters a supportive and productive work environment and facilitates professional development opportunities for the team.
- Develops and implements operational strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure efficient workflow, optimal resource utilization, and adherence to quality standards.
- Implements strategies to prevent medication errors, enhance medication reconciliation, and promote appropriate prescribing, dispensing, and administration of medications.
- Oversees the management of pharmacy inventory, including medication procurement, storage, and distribution.
- Conducts regular audits and assessments to identify opportunities for improvement, ensure compliance with industry standards, and mitigate risks.
- Develops and implements inventory control processes to optimize stock levels, reduce waste, and ensure availability of essential medications.
- Ensures compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations, including those related to controlled substances, drug compounding, and patient privacy.
- Delivers reports and presentations for senior leadership, highlighting key findings, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
- Oversees ongoing training to ensure all team members are fully versed and compliant within their respective roles.
- Interviews, hires, and develops talent, provides guidance and coaching, and fosters a high-performance culture.
- 7 plus years work experience
- 3 plus years leadership experience
- Registered Pharmacist (RPh) in good standing with no restrictions required.
- Advanced knowledge of problem solving and decision making skills
- Strong multi-tasking abilities with the ability to handle competing deadlines; flexible and adaptable.
- Ability to deal tactfully with customers and community.
- Advanced communication skills used to lead a team.
- Advanced execution and delivery (planning, delivering, and supporting) skills
- Ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate option.
- Ability to function in clinical setting with diverse cultural dynamics of clinical staff and patients.

BS in Pharmacy or PharmDPay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:$128,750.00 - $217,500.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
