As the Manager of Category Promo & Coupon Planning & Execution, you will use your leadership skills to build strong relationships with partners in your designated business unit to design, influence, and implement strategies that positively impact the company, and partner with your leader on the promotional strategy for our divisional merchandising team, partnering closely with Senior Managers in Category Promo & Coupon Planning & Execution and Promotion Optimization. You will partner with select Category Managers and Assistant Category Managers to provide optimal promotional strategy support that drives consumer behaviors and ensures profitable bottom line financial accountability for CVS Health.You will impact our business in the following ways:• Support your leader in participating in the build category-level bi-weekly promotional plans deliver on event criteria, themes/claims, or strategically pre-defined category promo KPIs, as established based on the impact promotion has for that category relative to other categories.
• Partner to build category and branded coupon offer pools that support category-level ad plans and drive customer engagement (share of wallet) and deliver unit lift incremental to base regular/promotional unit forecast & plan.
• Ensures brand-level promo and coupon plans drive unit lift and profitable sales growth in a win-win fashion for CMs and vendors while identifying and addressing funded promo/coupon plans that may be suboptimizing CVS total and category-level promotional KPIs, especially given yellow-tag and store labor constraints
• Support select CMs in aligning vendor promo submissions/ideas with category guardrails and maximizing the unit-driving impact of scan backs and coupon MD funding.
Tactical Project Execution
• Collaborates on the creation of differentiated business unit, seasonal, and/or bi-weekly promotional events. This
includes designing and executing mass market deal structures and personalized coupons that are compelling and
accessible to CVS shoppers and leveraging performance results to recommend and plan future category and branded
deals and coupons that will deliver intended results 50%
• Partners cross-functionally, within own team, to leverage outputs of current reporting tools and coordinate communications as needed. • Executes on tactical steps within project plans with minimal support. • Partners across departments in the Front Store (Loyalty, Promo, CMs, Supply Chain, Store Ops, etc.) to support the execution of project plans. • Partners with IT to develop requirements as needed for projects. • Partners with Senior Managers to communicate plans, risks, and opportunities from working team up to executive leadership. • Executes a prioritized roadmap that successfully delivers the company's ambitions, including changes in products, policies and/or processes across our ecosystem. • Leads and participates in meetings/calls with corporate partners and retail executives. • Follows-up on strategic initiatives and KPI performance
Delivers Results:
• Continually partners with Senior Manager to evaluate performance against category KPIs and identify opportunities for
improvement to CMs/DMMs based on performance vs. forecast.
• At the direction of the Senior Manager or Lead Director, evaluates promo & coupon programs & individual offers for
category/branded impact and refine strategy & plans for future based on performance metrics - parameters include
categories, brands, SKUs, offer types, offer depth, offer frequency, start/end dates, etc. leveraging overall coupon
capabilities.
• Leverages a results-oriented mindset to assign appropriate timelines and accountabilities for initiatives, projects and
deliverables. Empowers the team to drive action steps to bring to completion
• Works cross-functionally with CSC partners to develop strategies and action plans to mitigate identified risks and
opportunities tailored to the specific needs of each merchandising division, as needed.
• Optimizes use of data to support field execution of key programs and processes; ensures field feedback is incorporated by
team into dashboards and reporting to improve utilization and effectivness 20%
Strategy Planning
• Supports the Category Promo & Coupon Planning & Execution Team in crafting and adapting yellow tag promo and
category/branded coupon planning and execution strategy.
• Facilitates the creation of field facing materials with cross-functional Communications partnership for key touchpoints
such as:
o Senior Leader Field meetings
o Leadership conferences
o Quarterly field calls
• Supports the Senior Managers in developing an effective communication strategy for alerting both internal and external
leaders of anticipated changes, partnering with communication as needed 10%
Ad-Hoc Analytics
• Supports reporting and analysis for deep dive/follow up questions related to current state of Front Store sales, and state-
of-the state and progression towards shared goals.
• Adapts current reporting to inform strategies to predict and mitigate sales or assortment needs, in addition to identify
trends communicating those to the right partners as needed.

The typical pay range for this role is:$66,330.00 - $145,860.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.Our people fuel our future.
