Position Summary The Lead Director will meet the evolving and ongoing needs of the State Health Plan of North Carolina (NC SHP), which is Aetna's largest client. This role will be responsible for managing and partnering with cross functional business partners such as Product, Network, MEU, Finance, Actuarial, Pharmacy and Clinical ensuring both Aetna corporate and NC SHP priorities and projects are front and center in strategic planning. The Lead Director will have a strategic communications and project execution mindset that considers both external political needs and internal matrixed organizational needs.

- Works to achieve operational, functional, and business targets with measurable impact on progress against goals for the Strategic Planning area.
- Contributes to the development of complex strategies that encompass the organization's goals and position by utilizing project management tools, data analyses, and stakeholder feedback.
- Drives research associated with business issues and plan formation.
- Applies advanced knowledge of strategic methods to support business direction.
- Formulates communication presentations and materials for strategic initiatives.
- Audits processes and procedures for consistency, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
- Guides junior colleagues through consultation and mentoring in techniques and processes and provides functional (matrix) supervision.
- Coordinated communications strategy across multiple Aetna internal and external partners as it relates to the NC SHP.
- Educating internal stakeholders on NC SHP mission and structure to promote messaging aligned with Aetna, CVS Health, and the NC SHP.
- Evaluation of products and network partnerships to bring best in class cost savings and member services to bear on behalf of members.
- Ongoing resource collaboration with multiple stakeholders internally to ensure proper and timeline execution and rollout of new or developing services.
- Managing external vendor relationships introduced via the staff at NC SHP.
- Evaluation of identified vendors to determine if engagement with other internal parties, e.g., Product, Banking or Underwriting is appropriate.
- Supporting the Aetna AVP of the NC SHP in political and external stakeholder relationships.
- Managing internal projects that require NC SHP engagement at the direction of the Aetna AVP of the NC SHP.
- 10+ years' work experience in one or more of the following strategy and execution, business consulting, project management, network, finance
- Healthcare industry experience, managed care preferred.
- Adept at execution and delivery (planning, delivering, and supporting) skills.
- Adept at business intelligence
- Adept at collaboration and teamwork
- Mastery of problem solving and decision-making skills
- Mastery of growth mindset (agility and developing yourself and others) skills
- Bachelor's degree preferred/specialized training/relevant professional qualification
The typical pay range for this role is:$100,000.00 - $231,540.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
