Join CVS Health as a Lead Director - Solution Engineering (Infrastructure and DevOps) - Pharmacy and Consumer Wellness.Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Director - Solution Engineering (Infrastructure & DevOps) to join our Pharmacy and Consumer wellness team. This role requires expertise in Infrastructure and DevOps practices, release management, and cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on scalability, security, and cost optimization. You will work closely with cross functional teams that create best-in-class solutions that integrate technology, information, and business processes. As the Lead Director you will be accountable for designing comprehensive Infrastructure and DevOps solutions that meet business requirements while managing existing legacy systems as they evolve to more modern technologies.Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or a related role
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, with a strong focus on automation, cloud platforms, and CICD practices
  • 3+ years of experience in release management, including managing and streamlining release workflows for platforms or application libraries
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP services
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, or other infrastructure automation tools
  • Expertise in CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions CI/CD
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
  • Experience managing containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes and/or Ranchers
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and Linux/Windows system administration
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, or AppDynamics
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Certifications in AWS (AWS Certified DevOps Engineer), Azure, or Kubernetes (CKA/CKS)
  • Experience with database administration (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.)
  • Familiarity with service mesh technologies like Istio or Linkerd
Responsibilities:
  • As a senior figure within the Technology team, will lead Infrastructure and DevOps initiatives, drive the implementation of best practices and continuous improvement strategies to optimize the pharmacy & consumer wellness software engineering, Infrastructure and deployment processes
  • The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in DevOps, agile methodologies, cloud infrastructure, and automation tools, utilizing their extensive experience to drive transformative change and ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of our technology operating environment
  • Design, implement, and maintain GitOps and CICD pipelines using tools such as Github Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, ArgoCD, Harness and other modern technologies
  • Design, deploy, and manage scalable cloud and on-prem infrastructure using AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
  • Monitor system health and performance using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, or ELK Stack
  • Automate configuration management, provisioning, and deployment processes
  • Ensure security best practices and compliance for cloud and on-premises infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot and optimize system performance, networking, and storage
  • Manage Kubernetes clusters including Rancher clusters, Docker containers, and microservices-based architectures
  • Collaborate with software development teams to ensure seamless application deployments
  • Maintain documentation for infrastructure, automation scripts, and processes
  • This leader will have an ability to envision and execute a strategic roadmap for PCW DevOps capabilities while effectively managing projects, resources, and timelines that deliver capabilities in alignment with technology and business initiatives
  • Collaborate with our security practice and enhance cloud infrastructure security by:
  • Handling and automating security patch management
  • Designing secure infrastructure flows
  • Architect and manage cloud networking setups for optimal connectivity and performance
  • Implement and enforce cloud policies for compliance
  • Manage cloud platform RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) for secure access control
  • This role also requires a proven track record in fostering innovation, problem-solving, and the ability to identify, strategize and implement improvements to CVS DevOps capabilities
  • Collaborate with engineering leaders to standardize and automate release workflows in line with industry best practices
  • Stay abreast of technology industry trends and best practices
  • Continuously transform the organization to increase efficiencies and reduce overall expense
  • Ensures processes and controls within assigned area to enhance performance, security, reliability and availability of systems
  • Manage the financials of the assigned area with attention to the details of budgets while exhibiting a strict cost discipline and financial performance
  • Work with senior leaders to evolve culture and organizational behavior, elevating technology into a strategic partner
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)
Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:$144,200.00 - $288,400.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
