This position is a critical role within the adjudication technology organization that's responsible for driving critical transformation initiatives, fostering innovation through creative solutions. This leader will have a hands-on approach to managing engineering teams and ability to drive out of the box thinking to provide technical solutions for business processes. The Lead Director will manage engineering teams, continuously set standard high to guide development of new/existing products and platforms within the adjudication ecosystem.**Ideally this person would be hybrid onsite in Richardson, TX, Scottsdale, AZ or Buffalo Grove, IL but we may consider remote for the right candidate.   • Provide strategic and tactical Engineering and Architecture leadership including creating delivery plan, resource plan, generating roadmaps, drive operational excellence, optimize operating costs & budget by reducing technical debts, provide enhanced risk visibility with Executive-level reporting and coordination of all program related activities.
  • Oversee Engineering teams consisting of Engineering managers, engineers, product leads and Quality Engineers in a player-coach leadership style.
  • Provide guidance and direction on planning and execution of projects/programs, technical and functional standards and practice, process and procedures, career development and skillset mapping.
  • Define OKR's, KPI's and deliver reports on metrics and recommendations for improving delivery.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure engineering backlog is created and clear.
  • Remove blockers and demonstrate engineering progress to senior leadership.
  • Establish frameworks to ensure consistent and effective software delivery practices.
  • Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure understanding and alignment on priorities, deliverables.
  • Participate in annual budgeting, capital processes and quality improvement activities for the organization.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding, follow and provide guidance to project teams and resources on principles, practices and techniques followed within the application area and organization.
  • Perform periodic assessment of CVS and vendor resources.
  • Provide formal and informal feedback to address gaps in performance (functional, technical and soft skills).
  • Actively participate in recruitment and selection processes for both CVS and vendor candidates, as well as lead onsite and offshore vendor relationships.

Required Qualifications
  • 12+ years of Information Technology experience including leadership and development management experience in core development and delivery areas including the following:
  • 7+ years of experience leading large or multiple application teams to deliver projects and initiatives effectively
  • 10+ years of experience in information technology principles, development methodologies and use of platforms/applications or software products
  • 8+ years of experience mentoring and supervising full time employees work and career development, as well as onsite and offshore vendor relationships
  • 8+ years of experience in handling customer expectations and relationship building
Preferred Qualifications
  • Health Care and PBM background
  • AS400 / IBMi Series / Cloud experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science & Engineering, preferably Master's level
  • Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages innovation and professional growth.
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experiencePay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:$144,200.00 - $288,400.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
