As a CVS Health colleague, you'll be at the center of it all!The Lead Director, Pricing Strategy will be responsible for leading a team that helps to determine competitive pricing strategies and achieve revenue goals in a rapidly changing health care marketplace. The position will oversee competitive and market intelligence, pro-active data mining and strategic analysis and pricing strategy. This leader will be highly visible with Executive leadership and the Sales organization. This leader will be responsible for analyzing market and competitor activity to provide actionable intelligence to support informed business decisions and to help continue to win and retain business within the PBM. This role will also work in concert with Sales, Proposals, Underwriting, Product and Trade to provide our clients with enhanced pricing options and analytical insights. He/She will be responsible for identifying specific improvement opportunities and driving implementation of appropriate strategies that will create a meaningful financial benefit to the business and our clients. Overall, this high impact role will help to continue to distinguish CVS Health from it competitors and ensure CVS Health continues to win and retain business in the marketplace.You should have experience within the PBM including an operating knowledge of rebates, networks, underwriting, and financial models to analyze, review and approve client financial offerings that maintain the highest levels of accuracy in CVS Caremark's profitability and client savings. You should foster a culture of accountability, innovation, proactive/strategic thinking, consultation and clear, concise communication. You should be accustomed to working in fast-paced environments, managing priorities across a number of partners, and communicating effectively to senior leadership. - Collaborating with PBM Sales and Account Services to provide recommendations on pricing and negotiation strategy to achieve revenue and profitability targets for net new business client growth and margin retention
- Developing and maintaining domain expertise across multiple levers of PBM and Enterprise profitability, including retail networking, enterprise dispensing, specialty dispensing, pharmaceutical manufacturer rebates, MAC pricing, and other product/clinical service offerings
- Presenting financial analyses to Executive Leadership
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key internal partners including but not limited to Finance, Sales, Trade, and Underwriting organizations.
- Have a strong understanding of different lines of business (Commercial, Medicaid, Medicare, etc.) and understand the various layers/nuances
- Hire, train, coach, and develop a team of Directors, Managers and Analysts
- Promote team diversity both in terms of demographics and ideas.
- Work in a fast-paced environment and handle tight deadlines with appropriate level of delegation to team members
- Foster culture of accountability, innovation, strategic thinking, proactivity anticipation of custom needs and clear, effective communication
The candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and be able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This position offers broad exposure to all aspects of the company's business, as well as significant interaction with all the business leaders. The candidate will be expected to have the following key attributes:
- 10+ years of professional experience, preferably within healthcare/PBM
- 2+ years working on strategic financial projects
- 3+ years management experience
- Experience in process management, supply chain improvement, or in developing and rolling out strategic financial initiatives
- Previous financial analysis and financial process management
- Experience working with a variety of clients including self-insured employers and health plans, including payers with multiple lines of business with different funding arrangements
- Experience working to develop long term strategic financial forecasts
- Work independently in a fast-paced environment and handle tight deadlines with appropriate level of delegation to team members
- Exceptional communication skills across the full spectrum of formal and informal channels and to multiple audiences, including external clients, consultants, internal partners, and executive leadership. Proven ability to educate and influence external customers and internal partners
- Broad knowledge of the overall enterprise infrastructure, including operational systems and data warehouses
- Experience working in a geographically diverse company and in a matrix reporting environment
- Intimate knowledge of pricing, underwriting activities, and drivers of enterprise/PBM revenue and profitability
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
- 20% travel
The typical pay range for this role is:$100,000.00 - $231,540.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
