This is a highly visible leadership position within the Government Segment of Strategic Proposals Management which sits in the broader Client Financial and Profitability organization. This leader will be responsible for the oversight for the development of technical, financial, and business objectives within the Government segment .

As a leader in this highly visible and accountable team you will be tasked with executing strategic initiatives, developing talent, participating in strategy discussions related to sales opportunities, driving innovation in process and contributing to our collaborative and supportive culture. This individual will be seen as a key contributor leading to the overall goal of delivering high quality client proposals on time, with a focus on detailed accuracy, and with an exceptional win rates. This highly matrixed leadership position will be successful through close collaboration with other PBM business functions including consultant relations, competitive intelligence, underwriting, sales, PBM operations, and legal.

This work requires executive presence, presentation and delivery skills, and the ability to make connections across disciplines and levels of seniority. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop infrastructure and processes, leveraging existing and future tools to provide monitoring and surveillance of changes in market requests, needs or requirements. Further engage appropriate groups to proactively assess impact and under what conditions we could accommodate
  • Identify, implement standards and measures of performance and impact across Proposals team. Participate in team and broader organization and matrixed partners training and development.
  • Lead team to define processes and execute operations assuring accurate and complete capture of ALL client commitments as part PBM client renewal / win. Further, collaborate with matrixed partners to assure incorporation into contract language and other handoffs.
  • Define and manage process to assure appropriate communication, acknowledgment, and ongoing management with appropriate internal partners of proposal and contractual commitments.
  • Collaborate, understand, and develop team on standards and innovations of PBM pricing strategies, definitions, and related information
  • Provide consultation and recommendations in support of developing and executing on strategy, overall process innovation and operational efficiency
  • Maintain accountability for finalizing portions of PBM client proposals related to pricing and financial terms knowing when to self-approve and/or escalate items for further review.
  • Participate in external client negotiations as needed.
  • Support timely review of contractual terms and seek approval of any variations with key points of contact.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, enhancements, and tool enhancement on an ongoing basis.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of prior work experience in relevant areas such as Finance, Sales or Legal within a large corporate environment.
  • 3+ years experience as a people leader managing a team of individuals
  • 3+ years experience with all facets of PBM- operations, economics and services
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency with standard tools such as Contract Lifecycle Management, Obligation Management Applications, Excel and Tableau.
  • Prior PBM Underwriting and/or health care contracting experience
  • Existing PBM subject matter expertise
  • Strong contractual and financial analytical abilities.
  • Strong Project Management Experience - with emphasis on process innovation and process improvement
  • Highly Organized, detail-oriented with strong capability in structured and critical thinking
  • High level of independent judgment and proactivity
  • Self-motivation, entrepreneurialism, high energy and ability to successfully function in a high-demand, performance-driven environment
  • Strong Internal Relationship skills across diverse teams
  • Strong communication (written and oral) - executive presence and ability to influence across disciplines and at multiple levels of organization
  • MS Office - including Excel, Powerpoint etc.
  • Ability to guide and influence teams - aligned with broader defined strategies and overlapping initiatives
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree required or relevant work experience required
  • Preferred Advanced Degree (i.e. MBA, MPH)
Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:$100,000.00 - $231,540.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.Our people fuel our future.
