Specifically, this role will create a vision around how all value streams are identified and prioritized before championing them to all key stakeholders. In addition, they will lead the development of new analytics and reporting to ensure that the full value is captured.This new role that centralizes analytical and tooling capabilities that were previously siloed across the organization in order to drive greater efficiency and focus. - Develops and executes a comprehensive short and long-term strategic vision to meet the business objectives and the transformative evolution of centralized analytical and tooling capabilities
- Routinely engage with peers and senior leaders (VP, SVP) across stakeholder groups in thought partnership on promotion and coupons strategy assessment, re-directing as necessary to meet dynamically changing retail consumer enviornment
- Closely monitors macro and micro trends in the retail environment to evaluate competitive landscape using internal/external data; makes adjustments to strategy and actions accordingly
- Navigates ambiguity and change to achieve goals despite potential obstacles
- Leads and participates in meetings/calls with corporate partners and retail C-Suite Leaders to support overall agenda and front store strategy
- Champions innovation by bringing ideas to own VP & SVP as well as the broader PCW Team in an agile way, while balancing growth against financial risk and incremental cost to the organization
- Participates in three-year capability development roadmap for process and system enhancement investments to support overall agenda
- Partners with Front Store leadership team to continually innovate the suite of tools and analytical capabilities for the Front Store team as a whole. This includes leadership and participation in strategy development, experimentation design & execution, process improvement, capability development, executive communication, talent development, etc.
- Drives discovery of new value streams to help grow the Front Store business based on inputs from Business Acceleration partners and external observations
- Ensures new value streams are sized, validated and prioritized before championing them to business acceleration partners and merchandising leaders to ensure buy in
- Oversees adoption of, and value creation from new value streams
- Engages cross functional partners in support of new value streams, ensuring any roadblocks are overcome
- Refines existing core POG and versioning processes through improved analytics and automation
- Redirects assortment analytics to identify new sources of value around localization and versioning
- Leads thinking to ensure that assortment analytics are incorporated into broader plans for Assortment Elevation and Localization
- Creates a vision for merch data to support refined analytics and new use cases / reporting
- Ensures ongoing reporting of merchandising KPIs, driving evolution of analysis and reports to deliver incremental insights to Business Acceleration team
- Maintains three-year roadmap for merch analytics and tooling to support overall Front Store agenda
- Develops the capabilities of direct reports to take on progressively higher levels of responsibility while also establishing and maintaining governance processes that ensure store and field leaders, by position, have the communication and tools they need to deliver effectively.
- Develops robust, diverse talent pools and succesion plans.
- Promotes a high-performance culture by clearly setting goals and expectations.
- Develops external and internal networks that support a pipeline of talent into day-to-day and governance team.
- Acts as a coach and mentor for team to develop and support IDPs for high potential talent
- Leverages existing enterprise tools, such as talent profiles and enterprise development programs, to develop talent.
- 15+ years' experience of developing, implementing and executing programs.
- 15+ years of demonstrated successful leadership experience in a highly competitive multi-unit environment. Relevant sectors include retail, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals.
- 15+ years' proven track record of influencing others with and without authority
- 15+ years' experience building high-performing, successful teams developing key talent. Demonstrated passion for bringing new leaders along and helping them realize their ability to impact the business.
- 15+ years' experience actively taking on issues in a decisive manner, while keeping broader organizational dynamics in mind and empowering your leaders to obtain results through building behaviors.
- 15+ years' experience leading under pressure, adapting to changing dynamics in real time, and finding solutions that satisfy multiple 'customers' of the business.
- 15+ years' experience understanding and breaking down highly complex situations to deliver impactful solutions in real time.
- 15+ years' experience effectively demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills; very strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- 15+ years' experience collaborating effectively across different business functions, different perspectives, and different styles of leadership.
- 15+ years' experience demonstrated ability to lead a large organization and manage a multi-million-dollar business unit to achieve financial and business results.
- Expertise leveraging MS Office Suite, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint capabilities.
- Ability to think about the impact of decisions on the broader enterprise.
- Consistently demonstrates strong executive presence.
- Consistent record of exceptional customer service skills in increasing larger scopes of responsibility.
- Deep understanding of merchandising at CVS, or in other like external business models
- Demonstrated track record of high performance.

- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Travel- Ability, and willingness, to travel regularly, 10% of time, based on needs of the business
- Experience working for a Fortune 5 company in merchandising, loyalty or promo, or a similar function for a retail pharmacy company.
- Consulting experience preferred.
- Experience working as a strong merchant, managing a P&L strongly preferred.
- Advanced degree preferred.
Masters Degree PreferredPay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:$131,500.00 - $303,195.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
