The Executive Director, HR Business Partner is the strategic HR thought partner to the Aetna Clinical Solutions Senior Vice President and their executive team. The ideal candidate is responsible for developing and executing talent strategies that drive performance excellence while providing seasoned internal client consulting. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate the ability to anticipate future organization and talent requirements of the clinical organization based on business, industry and market conditions. The Executive Director also serves as a liaison with CVS Health's Talent Acquisition, Talent Strategy, HR Shared Services, Compensation & Benefits, Advice & Counsel and Strategic Diversity Management Teams to deliver transformative and innovative HR solutions.Major Responsibilities

The candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and be able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This position offers broad exposure to all aspects of the company's business, as well as significant interaction with all the business leaders. The candidate will be expected to have the following key attributes:
  • Deliver strategic business advisory consulting to executive/senior business leaders to align talent management practices, workforce effectiveness, and/or organizational effectiveness strategies in support of the business strategy.
  • Manage a skilled and highly motivated staff of HR Partners to consistently achieve business goals.
  • Drive business-led annual, quarterly and monthly organization and talent review activities, and planning actions that build organization capability required to achieve business strategy.
  • In collaboration with key HR centers of expertise, build and drive flexible talent acquisition and retention strategies for unique and high-demand roles including driving strategies to source and retain diverse talent.
  • Build talent bench strength and effective succession planning by consulting on selection, onboarding, engagement, development, movement/rotation, performance assessment, pay and rewards/recognition in support of business strategy execution.
  • Establish and monitor organization and talent metrics aligned to business strategy targeted leadership development/coaching that aligns behavior with leadership expectations and drives business outcomes.
  • Provide insight on enterprise talent strategy, including assessment of executive talent gaps that focuses on succession planning, enterprise mobility and diversity.
  • Drive long-term diversity and inclusion for Finance, aligned with enterprise initiatives and integrated into Finance talent and culture practices.
  • Enhance and enable talent mobility and assist to establish Aetna as an exporter of enterprise talent through a structured mobility and career progression framework.
  • Drive best-in-class practices for Chief Nursing Officer and established Nurse Executive Council
  • Establish HR practices within Aetna's clinical organization. Provide input and materials for Executive Committee and Board of Directors talent reviews.
  • Leverage best practices, external HR, and industry trends to inform consultative approach. Partner with HR Centers of Expertise "COE", HR Consulting and Shared Services in the development, implementation, measurement, and evaluation of broad-based HR initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years strategic human resources consulting experience with demonstrated expertise influencing the business strategy and shaping the HR strategic direction
  • Experience in coaching and influencing senior executives
  • Demonstrated experience in organizational design/development and change management
  • Ability to use HR experience and business knowledge to drive achievement of business goals
  • Demonstrated ability to consult using HR Standards of Practice and/or experience in multiple HR functions
  • Talent retention/development experience
  • Hybrid Model (in office Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday) - Hartford, CT

The typical pay range for this role is:$131,500.00 - $303,195.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
