Combining the assets of our health insurance products and services with CVS Health's unrivaled presence in local communities and their pharmacy benefits management capabilities, we're joining members on their path to better health and transforming the health care landscape in new and exciting ways every day.Aetna is recruiting for an Executive Director of Clinical Products who will oversee multiple teams that build, implement, and manage product offerings that help address clinical needs for Aetna customers and members. This leader will drive impact at scale, as every single Group Commercial member has access to one or more offerings within the Clinical Products portfolio. In this role, you will work with each Clinical Product team to define product portfolios, articulate the value of our offerings, ensure operational excellence, oversee a multi-year roadmap, and resolve issues as they arise.In addition, you will be part of the Commercial Product leadership team, reporting directly into Aetna's Vice President of Commercial Product. As a Commercial Product leader, you will help define and execute Commercial Product's overall strategy, ensure effective collaboration between Clinical Products and other Commercial Product teams, and facilitate knowledge sharing and cross-pollination of ideas across the Commercial Product organization and with other enterprise partners.You'll make an impact by:

  • Developing a go-forward vision for the Clinical Products portfolio guided by a data-driven assessment of market needs and competitive positioning.
  • Defining clear goals for the Clinical Products organization as a whole, and for each Clinical Product team that align to the strategic vision and corporate business objectives.
  • Working with each team to define multi-year roadmaps and performance targets (e.g., membership expectations, medical cost savings, engagement rates) at both the portfolio and product level.
  • Overseeing the annual capital funding submission process for the Clinical Product offerings.
  • Helping teams build and maintain product portfolios that remain relevant to the needs of our customers and members (e.g., Population Health, Virtual Care/Retail Health, Behavioral Health, and Women/Reproductive Health).
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., vendors) to implement Clinical Product offerings in a timely fashion and ensure efficient ongoing operations.
  • Building customer-facing and internal materials that help articulate the value of our offerings at both the portfolio and product level, including reporting.
  • Acting as an ambassador for the Clinical Products portfolio in meetings internally (e.g., town halls, executive presentations) and externally (e.g., customer finalist presentations, consultant trainings).
  • Serving as a point of escalation for issues for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring issues are resolved in a timely fashion, and where appropriate, help to raise awareness of issues and mitigation plans with executive leadership.
  • Establishing a culture of collaboration at all levels (across teams in Clinical Products, Commercial Product, Aetna, CVS).
  • Partnering closely with senior executives, analytics, finance, clinical, marketing, and other business units to ensure strategy and performance of our offerings align to corporate business objectives.
  • Overseeing the overall financial and operational performance of offerings within the portfolio.
  • Leading and developing people, preferably leading managers. Proven team leadership experience - leadership skills to build high-performing teams, manage and develop talent, influence, and impact a broad set of stakeholders, engage, and inspire others, and lead by example. Ability to lead teams and drive performance in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Creating and executing a sustainable, and profitable-growth strategy.
  • Supporting CVS Health in attracting, retaining, and engaging a diverse and inclusive consumer-centric workforce that delivers on our purpose and reflects the communities in which we work, live, and serve.
Qualifications

The candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and be able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This position offers broad exposure to all aspects of the company's business, as well as significant interaction with all the business leaders. The candidate will be expected to have the following key attributes:
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience within the health insurance industry, with a strong preference for Group / Employer experience.
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience in product, corporate strategy, and/or consulting.
  • Experience navigating through large-scale organizations and brokering alignment through indirect influence.
  • Managing teams of teams and/or managing organizations with 15+ individuals. Experience leading and developing people, preferably leading managers. Proven team leadership experience - leadership skills to build high-performing teams, manage and develop talent, influence, and impact a broad set of stakeholders, engage, and inspire others, and lead by example.
  • Ability to source and synthesize different types of data (e.g., membership, financials, clinical).
  • Experience building and delivering executive-level presentations in a limited time frame.
  • Ability to developed structured problem-solving skills to identify root cause of issues and develop recommendations for resolution.
  • Experience prioritizing competing objectives, meeting deadlines, and effectively communicating updates.
  • Ability to deal effectively with multiple internal and external clients.
  • Ability to effectively interact with a diverse workforce and cross functional groups.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.
Education

Bachelor's degree is required.Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:$131,500.00 - $303,195.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.Our people fuel our future.
