Responsible for HRSS Employment Tax and Governance of Service Providers relating to all aspects of payroll tax delivery and solutions for CVS Health. This position ensures service delivery of all payroll tax related processes ensuring compliance while meeting or exceeding our enterprise goals and targets. This position will identify and resolve issues, lead, or participate in complex projects, ensure continuous process improvement, and manage outsourcing relationships.

In this role, this position is accountable to oversee the governance of vendors providing payroll tax services related to both employee and employer withholdings as well as meeting all Federal and State filing guidelines in a fully compliant manner. This is done for 145+ unique FEIN's, over 4k local, and 1k state income tax accounts. The yearend W-2 process issues over 455k documents to colleagues employed at CVS Health. Federal withholding exceeds $2.2B in payments along with FICA amounts more than $1.2B in each of the Employer and Employee contributions.Willingness to travel as needed and working in a balanced hybrid environment
Required Qualifications
- Experience preparing or reviewing federal and state tax returns for U.S
- Minimum of 7+ years of work experience in a professional tax organization
- Ability to translate complex data from a range of sources into leader ready insights and deliverables.
- Proficiency with tax software such as ADP Employment Tax or other tax software
- Proven experience in managing, coaching, and mentoring junior colleagues.
- Deep knowledge of statutory taxes, benefits and other withholdings and the pre/post tax treatment
- Must have knowledge of all aspects in payroll, including equity-based compensation and employee stock purchase plans.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and employee related software (preferable Workday)
CPA certificationEducation
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a related field, supported by tax, business, or financial planning experience.
The typical pay range for this role is:$82,940.00 - $182,549.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
