Heavy Diesel Mechanic - Workshop

Laverton

• Competitive hourly rate, plus overtime + bonus + super

• Fixed rotating roster 2 weeks dayshift, 1 week afternoon

• Modern well-equipped facility to be based out from!

We are looking for a talented Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our workshop team in Laverton specialising in Heavy Vehicle repairs and maintenance for our On-highway automotive customers.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Deliver a first-class service to our customers

• Complete repairs and maintenance of heavy diesel and engine products

• Diagnose and repair various engines

• Engine rebuilding and reconditioning

• Work with other major OEM's such as Hitachi, Komatsu, Liebherr etc.

• Complete required documentation

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Mechanical trades qualified - Heavy Diesel Mechanic, Plant Mechanic with heavy experience

• Experience as a technician in the service and maintenance of heavy diesel products

• Ideally possess engine rebuild and reconditioning experience or knowledge

• Hitachi, Komatsu & Liebherr experience highly desirable

• Solid diagnostic capabilities with the help of systems on computers

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
  • Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution
  • Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

  • Minimal level of workshop experience required
  • Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products

Qualifications for Internal Candidates:

  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area and toolbox.
  • Have good attention to detail and enthusiasm to deliver the customer with a quality repair.
  • Engine rebuild and major experience preferred but not essential.
  • Experience with the Cummins product is preferred but not essential.
