DESCRIPTION
Utilize mechanical engineering principles to provide global and regional functional excellence leadership and direction for service training. Collaborate with business units, regions and functions to define, develop and implement a consistent global and regional service training strategy and standards. Create, improve and apply work processes involving activities such as resource allocation and management, organizational and business change, customer/stakeholder management and knowledge management, all used for the purposes of enabling high quality decision making that meets business expectations. Manage service information from product design documentation and information provided by subject matter experts in the Engineering function. Manage and maintain up to date work procedures to promote standardization of Service Information and Training. Plan and monitor project budget and conduct research and analysis while also providing input into the design and development of project plans and timelines. Investigate and integrate new technology as appropriate. Develop appropriate resource plans to align with global, regional and line-of-business strategic objectives, New Product Introduction project schedules and customer service excellence initiatives. Provide leadership and guidance to regional service training centers and business leaders to help prioritize and execute resource plans. Apply knowledge of Change Management for engaging individuals and organizations through change to achieve and sustain business results and outcomes. Liaise with business units to leverage strategy, tools and processes to drive a consistent output to channel partners and customers. Develop and maintain key metrics for the function's deliverables. Champion continuous improvement using Six Sigma methodologies including DMAIC on functional improvements that reduce cost, complexity and improve skill development while meeting or exceeding customer expectations. Manage the functional operations to budget, including managing expenses, income and capital investment. Manage the global and/or regional content development and records management for training. Ensure delivery of all service training functional deliverables for new product introductions. Support channel readiness to meet product support requirements. Evaluate success indicators utilizing knowledge of Instructional Design and analyze the results to validate content effectiveness as compared to the learning objectives. Support the delivery of business unit safety training initiatives with respect to servicing products. Maintain strong relationships with external vendors and training resources; and participate in and contribute to training industry organizations. Manage a list of project deliverables using the recommended project management tools and processes to ensure that the project includes all the work required to complete the project successfully. Lead best practices, provide guidance on problems and issues to service training organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Positions required a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience as a Technical Training Engineer, Training Specialist or Supervisor, or related position. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 5 years of experience as a Technical Training Engineer, Training Specialist or Supervisor, or related position. Experience to include: Resource allocation and management; Manage and promote standardization of Service Information and Training; Design and development of project plans and timelines; New Product Introduction; Change Management; Resource Plan Management; Continuous improvement using Six Sigma methodologies including DMAIC; Manage functional operations including expenses, income and capital investment; Instructional Design and effectiveness; Project management tools and processes.
