DESCRIPTION

Under minimal supervision and in accordance with Cummins Delegation of Authority, determines the quantity and order date for materials needed to support complex business processes such as supersessions, new product launches, campaigns, HAZMAT, No Source, dual source, and E&O.

Key Responsibilities

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)

  • Reports any work-related injury, illness, incident, or hazard.
  • Complies with HSE standards, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Engages in HSE training.

Quality

  • Follows applicable standard work, process documentation, and quality procedures.
  • Performs quality checks on material planning master data (lead time, order quantities, etc.) taking action to support Plan for Every Part (PFEP).
  • Works with Quality to disposition non-conforming material in a timely manner.

Delivery

  • Manages part change requests and ramp-up/ramp-down activities to meet global aftermarket demand while minimizing global excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Collaborates with Product Management to set initial stocking levels for VPI/NPI P&L introductions and ensures part readiness to meet target launch dates.
  • Confirms Planners are initiating No Source Cases as needed on parts planned by regional sites.
  • Works with Purchasing and other support teams to properly set up local/dual-sourced parts.
  • Takes ownership of Hazmat part setup to drive compliance with Cummins guidelines and government regulations.
  • Coordinates inventory bank build, monitors demand movement from recurring to non-recurring, and other campaign-related activities.
  • Executes planning parameter review and improvement work within the function.
  • Supports Supplier Materials Agreements to reduce lead time and order quantities, balancing supply with demand.
  • Conducts root cause analysis for E&O and initiates proper inventory disposition in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Demonstrates the target level of proficiency in core competencies.
  • Remains flexible and performs other miscellaneous duties, as required, to meet business goals.

Qualifications

Education, Licenses, Certifications

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

  • Plan for Every Part (PFEP) : Uses PFEP in planning, designing, and managing systems and processes within a facility to ensure delivery of the right part at the right time in the right quantity to the right place.
  • Master Supply Scheduling : Establishes and maintains a valid Master Production Schedule for a family of products, meeting customer expectations and requirements while maximizing operational efficiency.
  • Materials KPI Management : Operates in relation to recent or historical outputs as compared to organizational expectations to determine next steps to drive improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

  • 3-5 years of work experience in Supply chain planning.
  • Experience in Coordination with Suppliers, material planning process, demand planning, supplier scheduling, OTD, PO etc.
  • Experience in handling supplier is preferred.
