DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented STW - Gear Process Technician to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Cummins Inc. facility in Troy, MI.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Optimize Gear Development : By coordinating the design and procurement of tooling and cutting tools, you will ensure efficient and precise gear development processes.
- Enhance Quality and Efficiency : Your understanding of gear geometry, manufacturing, and quality procedures will help maintain high standards and improve production efficiency.
- Streamline Operations : Expediting part processing through internal and external sources will minimize delays and keep projects on track.
- Effective Program Management : By scheduling and updating programs as required, you'll ensure that all gear development projects are well-coordinated and meet deadlines.
- Support Innovation and Training : Coordinating lab activities, including research, training, and customer visits, will foster innovation and enhance team skills.
- Drive Cost Reduction : Supporting plant quality and cost reduction initiatives will contribute to the overall financial health and competitiveness of the company.
- Implement Best Practices : Developing and implementing best practices will standardize processes, improve efficiency, and ensure consistent quality.
- Ensure Timely Delivery : Tracking product processing to ensure on-time delivery will enhance customer satisfaction and maintain the company's reputation for reliability.

RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Flexibility for Travel : Be prepared to travel domestically and internationally to various Cummins-Meritor facilities, vendors, and industry events.
- Technical Proficiency : Master various computer systems and programs essential for completing job functions efficiently.
- Work Hours Flexibility : Be ready to put in extra hours when necessary to meet project deadlines and objectives.
- Partnership Skills : Work closely with Gear Developers and Gear Engineers to ensure seamless coordination and project success.
- Project Management : Ensure the timely completion of all project objectives by effectively managing schedules and resources.
- Technical Writing and Blueprint Reading : Develop the ability to write detailed technical reports and accurately read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
- Positive Attitude : Maintain a positive attitude, be a quick learner, and contribute diverse ideas and viewpoints as a team player.
- Adaptability and Continuous Learning : Stay adaptable and open to learning new skills and processes to continuously improve and contribute to the team's success.
Additional Information
- High School diploma or equivalent with emphasis in Math and Science preferred.
- Some additional education preferred.
