DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Site Quality Engineer - Senior to join our team specializing in quality for our Oshkosh Wisconsin Manufacturing Facility in Oshkosh, WI.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Customer Issue Resolution : Address plant customer issues by managing corrective requests and leading containment activities to ensure timely and effective solutions.
- Quality Assurance : Ensure products and processes meet both initial and long-term quality standards, including IATF, customer-specific requirements, APQP, and PPAP documentation.
- Change Management : Lead and support change management activities for current products and Value Package Introduction (VPI), verifying that products and processes meet key measures and analyzing data for informed decision-making.
- Quality Audits : Conduct and support quality audits to maintain high standards and continuous improvement in processes and products.
- Technical Resource : Serve as a quality technical resource for other functional areas, providing expertise and guidance on quality practices and standards.
- Mentorship : Coach and mentor less experienced team members in quality practices, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Continuous Improvement : Lead the prioritization of continuous improvement initiatives with cross-functional business partners using methodologies like lean manufacturing, 7-step problem solving, and Intelligent Quality Tools and Methods (IQTM).
- Safe Launch Initiatives : Lead and support Safe Launch initiatives through VPI to ensure new products meet quality and performance standards from the start.

RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Customer Focus and Communication : Build strong customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions while effectively communicating with different audiences to ensure clarity and understanding.
- Manufacturing Knowledge and Quality Influence : Demonstrate a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, implement changes to improve efficiency, and influence stakeholders to prioritize quality in decision-making.
- Advanced Product Quality Planning and Problem Solving : Lead technical quality planning to ensure customer satisfaction and use systematic problem-solving methods to identify root causes and implement robust solutions.
- Project Management and Quality Systems Management : Balance scope, schedule, and resources for projects, and utilize quality tools and processes to maintain and improve the quality management system, ensuring consistent and effective product and service delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
- Demonstrated role competence is required. College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering or a related technical or scientific subject or experience equivalent is required.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
- Intermediate level of experience required. Preferably 3-5 years' experience in Manufacturing, Engineering or Program Management role in the automotive industry or a similarly regulated industry.
- Minimum of 2 years of related manufacturing or quality experience required.
Additional Details:
- The ideal candidate will have experience in internal auditing (ISO9001-2015 and IATF 16949 standards).
- This position requires the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stake holders. You will embrace projects and be responsible for the various processes required to obtain closure and exceed customer expectations.
- Effective utilization of Quality Tools, such as but not limited to, 8D, 5-Whys, Gantt Charts, PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Capability Studies, PPAP review and disposition will be required to excel in this capacity.
- Experience in Automotive, Heavy Vehicle Systems and Industrial (Off-Highway) manufacturing processes are desired.
