DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Service Engineering Product Specialist to join our team specializing in Engineering for our PSBU Industrial Department in Daventry, United Kingdom.

This role involves 25% international travel frequency and 10% domestic travel frequency.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Proactive Problem Solving: By leading investigations into product or system issues, you'll identify root causes and recommend effective solutions, ensuring high-quality repair events.
  • Technical Expertise: Your practical experience with mechanical and electronic systems will be invaluable in maintaining and troubleshooting complex equipment.
  • Critical Thinking and Decision Making: Your ability to assess risks and make informed decisions will help in managing and resolving product issues efficiently.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Leveraging your experience in instrumentation, testing, data acquisition, and analysis, you'll provide valuable insights to improve product performance and reliability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Acting as a technical liaison, you'll bridge the gap between field service and engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to prioritize and address product issues.
  • Cultural Adaptability: Your experience operating in diverse industrial environments will enable you to effectively manage projects and collaborate with teams across different cultures.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: By managing and coaching others, you'll foster a collaborative environment and help develop the skills of less experienced engineers and technicians.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Technical Proficiency: Practical experience in maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical and electronic systems, as well as conducting failed component inspections and testing in workshop and laboratory environments.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to think critically, assess risks, and make informed decisions based on available information, along with experience in instrumentation, testing, data acquisition, and data analysis/interpretation.
  • Adaptability and Cultural Awareness: Experience operating in diverse industrial environments and the ability to effectively collaborate with teams across different cultures.
  • Values-Driven and Team-Oriented Approach: Being self-motivated, values-driven, and a team player will be crucial in fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/ Experience:

  • College, university, or equivalent bachelor's degree in engineering or appropriate STEM field is required.
  • Post-graduate (Master's) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
  • Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making. Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred.
