DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Field service diesel technician to join our Distribution business and support our client in the NWT, Canada
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Engages customers in a courteous and professional manner.
- Anticipates and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
- Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete less complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
- Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on engine and related components in the field.
- Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor. Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
- Identifies additional service opportunities with customer.
- Completes training in line with skill and business requirements.
- Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
- Heavy duty Red seal certification- OFF road is mandatory for this role.
Experience:
- Basic level field service work experience
- Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
- Customer service experience
- Mining experience
- HHP experience (19L and above)
- Oil & Gas and Heavy Duty experience an asset
- Power Generation experience an asset
(Intermediate):
- Completes complex internal engine repairs
- Performs engine overhauls with limited direct supervision
About the role :
- Safety Sensitive Position
- 14 shifts on, 14 shifts off rotation day shift (6am to 6pm) or depending on the business needs
- Fly In Fly out, camp accommodations provided (nearest city is Yellowknife at about 300km)
- Remote position will include to to be able to manage offsite parts and engine inventory- To assist with management of Cost Per Hour engine program at customer site and potential to support other mining locations as needed
- A travel expense allowance is allocated bi-weekly
- Basic hourly salary plus different premiums
- A 5000$ sign on bonus is available for this role
- Motor Vehicle History Report and Driver's Abstract required
- Customer site medical and security clearances must be obtained as condition of hiring
