DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Quality Technician- Level III to join our team specializing in Quality for our Cummins Inc. facility in Ladson, SC.

This position is on-site at Jamestown Engine Plant as a support function. Working for Cummins Turbo Plant.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

Support Engineers : By assisting in production-related and inspection jobs, you ensure smooth operations and help maintain high-quality standards.

Quality Monitoring : Your role in monitoring material quality and making necessary adjustments ensures that the final products meet the required specifications.

Documentation and Records : Maintaining accurate documentation and records helps in tracking progress, ensuring compliance, and facilitating audits.

Defect Identification : Comparing physical characteristics of components and products to technical specifications allows you to identify and address defects early in the process.

Testing and Reporting : Conducting simple tests and preparing technical reports provides valuable data for decision-making and continuous improvement.

Measurement Equipment : Your expertise in using and programming measurement equipment ensures precise and reliable product testing.

Customer Assistance : Assisting customers in understanding product specifications and measurement data helps build trust and ensures proper product application.

Equipment Maintenance : Ensuring the proper maintenance and calibration of measurement and test equipment guarantees consistent and accurate results.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Customer Quality Assurance Technician Role and Responsibilities
  1. Safety
  2. Will use Personal Protection Equipment during teardown
  3. Safety glasses
  4. Gloves
  5. Follow all plant site safety procedures and heed all safety notifications.
  6. Any Health or Safety concerns about CQA area, visitors or yourself; notify your manager immediately.
  7. Customer Contact
  8. Check email at least every two hours for customer and manager communication.
  9. Carry phone with you throughout your shift.
  10. Check customer portals daily for new reports.
  11. Customer Returns
  12. Check tracking numbers of returned turbos for current status.
  13. Escalate if package becomes lost or stuck.
  14. Check MRO daily for turbo and component arrival and shipments.
  15. Notify manager when a return arrives.
  16. Perform analysis of turbo within 24 hours of arrival.
  17. Notify manager if this is not possible.
  18. Use One-Pager to document analysis findings.
  19. Submit One-pager to your manager for review
  20. Follow the Teardown FTA during analysis to ensure root cause
  21. Respond to customer MNCs and create CTT internal MNCs for issues reported by the customer.
  22. Containment and rework
  23. Inspect/rework customer inventory for defective product
  24. Create process flow
  25. Track completed product
  26. Supervise 3rd party support
  27. Perform daily update reports
