DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Quality Technician - Level II to join our team specializing in Quality for our Cummins Inc. facility in Jamestown, NY.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Supporting Engineers : By assisting in production-related and inspection tasks, you will help ensure smooth operations and high-quality output.
- Quality Control : Monitoring material quality and making necessary adjustments will directly contribute to maintaining high standards in the processing plant.
- Documentation : Maintaining and supporting documentation and records will ensure accurate tracking and compliance with industry standards.
- Defect Identification : Comparing physical characteristics to technical specifications will help identify defects early, preventing potential issues down the line.
- Testing and Reporting : Conducting simple tests and preparing technical reports will provide valuable data for decision-making and product improvement.
- Customer Assistance : Assisting customers in understanding product specifications and measurement data will enhance customer satisfaction and trust.
- Measurement Studies : Participating in measurement uncertainty studies will contribute to the accuracy and reliability of measurement and calibration results.
- Equipment Maintenance : Ensuring proper maintenance and calibration of measurement and test equipment will keep tools in optimal condition, supporting consistent and accurate testing.

Education/Experience
- High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
- Requires some work experience and intermediate level knowledge obtained through training or on-the-job experience.

Additional Information
- Significant hands-on experience highly desired with Major Gaging in production applications / Includes: CMM's, on-line surface finish gages, on-line pc-based gage systems, fixture style gages, all types of hand gages, Adcole Camshaft gages, roundness gages, etc.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- Computer skills required (Includes spread sheet software programs, Excel, word, Minitab, etc.)
- Excellent GD &T and Blueprint reading skills required.
- Strong Technical background and aptitude desired related to machining component manufacturing lines along with their inspection procedures.
- CMM operations skills experience desired (PC-DMIS, etc.)
- Customer Focus: Demonstrate exceptional service delivery to ensure customer satisfaction by effectively managing unresolved situations, frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.

- Attention to Detail: Follow detailed procedures meticulously to ensure accuracy in documentation and data, maintain a well-organized system of records, and concentrate on routine work details.

- Demonstrated Organizational & Time Skills Management
Responsibilities:
- Resource for all Gage R&R / MSA Studies throughout the plant; work with appropriate Manufacturing and Quality people to schedule/organize, assist, perform, and maintain QIE studies at JEP.
- Participate in related plant Quality activities as requested (Internal Corp. audits, BVC audits, work instruction changes, etc.
- Responsible for Gage Lab Documentation Control Activities.
- Work with Lab Manager on updates related to ISO 17025 lab certification (includes: work instructions, specifications updates, team training matrices, etc.)
- Understand and support ISO 17025 initiatives as they relate to the Gage/Metrology Lab environment.
- Work with Gage Lab Techs with aspects related to various plant gages and calibration instructions.
- Report results to appropriate people and maintain all study records in the lab area for the plant.
- Be responsible for both the quality of work produced, and the stoppage of work if a gage problem is discovered through tests.
- Work with Gage Lab Techs with aspects related to various plant gages.
- Support Gage Lab Metrics and Score cards/ Work on monthly updates for lab.
