DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Quality Technician - Level III to join our team specializing in Quality for our Cummins Inc. facility in Morristown, TN.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Supporting Engineers : By assisting engineers with production-related and inspection tasks, you ensure smooth operations and help maintain high-quality standards.
- Quality Monitoring : Your role in monitoring material quality and making necessary adjustments will directly contribute to the efficiency and reliability of the processing plants.
- Documentation Maintenance : Keeping accurate documentation and records ensures compliance and traceability, which is crucial for quality control and audits.
- Defect Identification : Comparing physical characteristics of components and products to technical specifications helps in early detection of defects, preventing potential issues down the line.
- Conducting Tests : Performing simple tests on electrical functions, reliability, and packaging quality ensures that products meet required standards before reaching customers.
- Technical Reporting : Recording results and preparing technical reports provide valuable data for continuous improvement and decision-making processes.
- Customer Assistance : Assisting customers in understanding product specifications and measurement data helps in building trust and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Equipment Maintenance : Ensuring proper maintenance and calibration of measurement and test equipment guarantees accurate and reliable measurements, which are essential for quality assurance.

RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Collaboration : Build strong partnerships and work collaboratively with team members to achieve shared goals. Effective teamwork will be crucial for seamless operations and problem-solving.
- Effective Communication : Develop and deliver clear, multi-mode communications tailored to the unique needs of different audiences. This will ensure that everyone, from team members to customers, understands the information being conveyed.
- Customer Focus : Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers by delivering solutions that meet their needs. A customer-centric approach will help in gaining trust and satisfaction.
- Measurement Science : Analyze measurement processes to identify and quantify sources of measurement uncertainty. Apply your knowledge of metrology across various domains (Chemical, Dimensional, Electrical, Mechanical, Optical, Radiation, and Physical) to ensure accurate measurements.
- Quality Process Management : Utilize quality tools and methods (such as APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, Capability studies, Process Audit, inspection, and testing) to ensure the quality of products, processes, and services. Proficiency in these areas will help maintain high standards and continuous improvement.
- Laboratory Management : Lead technical resources and manage the business aspects of the laboratory. Ensure that both technical and business requirements are met, and that the laboratory maintains the necessary certifications and accreditations.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Information:
Experienced in using measurement devices and equipment in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office products preferred.
Must be able to work within varying plant temperatures to collect sample parts for measurement.
