DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented PSBU Demand Planning Manager to join our team specializing in Supply Chain Management for our Cummins Inc. facility in Columbus, IN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  1. Aligning Supply and Demand Plans : Ensure the Master Supply Plan aligns with the Unconstrained Demand Plan over a 4 to 36 month horizon, improving forecast accuracy and supply chain efficiency.
  2. Cross-Functional Collaboration : Consult with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain Planning teams to facilitate effective forecasting processes and manage demand control implications on availability.
  3. Maintaining Supply Plan Integrity : Take prompt corrective actions to maintain the stability of the supply plan and escalate issues as necessary to ensure consistent supply chain operations.
  4. Challenging Demand Plan Assumptions : Use your knowledge of business, customers, markets, and products to challenge and improve demand plan assumptions, enhancing the robustness of the demand plan.
  5. Leading Continuous Improvement Projects : Drive continuous improvement initiatives that align with the Cummins Operating System and Functional Excellence, leveraging common processes, tools, and information systems.
  6. Supporting Global Alignment : Lead regional and global disaggregation and supply forecasting processes to ensure alignment with corporate supply chain management initiatives.
  7. Standardizing Processes : Participate in standardizing disaggregation and forecasting processes by establishing collaborative relationships with business partners, enhancing overall process efficiency.
  8. Developing and Coaching Staff : Manage, coach, and develop staff, setting goals for training, development, performance, and career planning, and making a significant impact across multiple areas or functions.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

College, university, or equivalent degree required.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Significant level of experience required. 5-7 years of relevant experience preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

Global PSBU Aftermarket Demand Planning

  • Hybrid Expectation: This role will be a Hybrid role with flexibility,however, would prefer a candidate that is local to the Columbus, IN area and able to report onsite one day per week.
  • Accountability : Oversee Global PSBU Aftermarket Demand Planning, encompassing all PDCs, RDCs, and the DBU network. Ensure leadership alignment and approval through monthly Demand Reviews as part of Integrated Business Planning (IBP).
  • North America Focus : Manage North America PSBU Aftermarket Demand Planning, including the Memphis PDC and NA RDCs. Ensure alignment of Demand and Supply plans over a 4 to 36-month horizon through the disaggregation process within product segmentation.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with commercial, marketing, and DBU segment teams across the company to gather forward-looking market and customer insights. Enrich the statistical forecast and hold teams accountable for the accuracy of their inputs. Utilize business, customer, market, and product knowledge to challenge and improve demand plan assumptions.
  • Global Coordination : Collaborate with MRC Operations in North America, South America, the Middle East, and Australia to understand build schedules and incorporate them into the North American demand plan, ensuring parts availability.
  • Demand Control Management : Oversee the handoffs between Demand Control and Aftermarket Planning teams to ensure appropriate actions are taken in response to changes within the 0-to-3-month demand control period. Work with Demand Control to understand the implications of near-term order trends on availability.
  • Cross-Functional Interaction : Manage cross-functional and cross-BU interactions to ensure reliable and efficient demand management, including daily operations and financial target achievement.
  • Demand Plan Integrity : Maintain the integrity of the demand plan, taking prompt corrective actions to ensure stability and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Continuous Improvement : Drive continuous improvement in Forecast Accuracy and Forecast Bias to support delivery and inventory KPIs. Utilize various analytical models and tools to enhance forecast accuracy through the disaggregation process.
  • System Design and Deployment : Actively influence the design and deployment of new systems. Improve cross-functional and internal handoffs to increase operational efficiencies and foster positive working environments.
  • Problem Solving and Improvement : Approach daily problem solving and continuous improvement opportunities strategically and tactically to achieve performance targets. Lead continuous improvement projects aligned with the Cummins Operating System and Functional Excellence, leveraging common processes, tools, and information systems.
  • Ad-Hoc Analysis : Support ad-hoc analysis based on leadership requests.
  • Analytical Skills : Possess high-level analytical skills and proficiency in SQL, Power Query, Power BI, and Databricks. Knowledge of Python and Data Science is an asset.
  • Aftermarket Business Understanding : Have a strong understanding of the Aftermarket business, customer segments, and markets, gained through prior experience in commercial and/or supply chain roles within the company. Specific knowledge of PSBU is an asset.
