DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Project Engineer to join our team specializing in Engineering for Powergen:Gensets in Milano, Lombardia, Italy

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Problem Resolution: You will investigate integration and installation problems, understand their causes, recommend appropriate actions, and document results, ensuring high-quality solutions.
  • Process Improvement: By applying and supporting the improvement of processes like Installation Quality Assurance and OEM integration, you will enable high-quality decision-making.
  • Technical Liaison: You will serve as the primary technical liaison between OEMs and Cummins, delivering product data and installation requirements to Application Engineers and OEMs.
  • Decision Making: You will make decisions in product selection, design, and integration that impact machine performance, optimization, and quality.
  • Customer Relationships: Developing strong working relationships with customer technical counterparts, you will manage product specifications, communicate product changes, and facilitate customer requests.
  • Market Knowledge: Applying in-depth product, application, and market knowledge, you will support OEM product selection and equipment design.
  • Customer Advocacy: You will translate customer needs into functional product requirements and serve as a customer/market advocate during new product development programs.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensuring products are applied and installed correctly, you will validate prototype machine performance and assure installation quality to meet Cummins requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Technical Expertise and Ownership: Show ownership in technical proposals, lead technical meetings, and support projects with your expertise throughout their lifecycle. This includes analyzing customer requirements, creating and reviewing technical submittals, and solving issues or conducting root cause analysis.
  • Collaboration and Open-mindedness: Work effectively as a specialist in your field and collaborate with colleagues on other projects. Ensure that all voices are heard when working on solutions and drive towards compromise.
  • Dynamic and Passionate Approach: Be dynamic, creative, and passionate about the industry and the brand. This will help in growing the market share and increasing Cummins' presence.
  • Technical Skills and Safety Focus: Be proficient in working with Revit BIM, 3D designs, or isometrics with Creo. Additionally, champion safety and serviceability in your designs and solutions, ensuring technical data is stored and communicated correctly.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/ Experience:

  • Entry level/Early career professional. Preferred candidates would have relevant experience working in either a temporary student employment environment (intern, co-op, or other extracurricular team activities) or as an early career professional in a relevant technical discipline area. Knowledge of MS Office tools is also preferred.
  • College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or appropriate STEM field is required.Post-graduate (Master's) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles.
