For our site in Roermond, Netherlands we are looking for an enthusiastic Production Engineer Intern (40 hours / week) to join our Manufacturing team. In this role, you will take ownership of key digitalization initiatives aimed at optimizing production processes and performance tracking.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Digitizing KPIs : You will be responsible for identifying, digitalizing, and monitoring key production metrics that track operational efficiency, waste, and losses.
  • Promoting Data Visibility : Working alongside the Production Manager, you will implement tools and dashboards that make production data visible and accessible to the team, allowing for real-time performance tracking.
  • Training and Coaching : You will train and guide Supervisors in the use of digital tools and dashboards to improve decision-making and efficiency.
  • Process Standardization & Continuous Improvement : You will actively support the continuous improvement initiatives, helping to standardize production processes and identifying areas for operational improvement.
  • Driving Digital Transformation : You will support the implementation of digital tools in the production value chain, automating manual processes and enhancing workflow efficiency.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration : You will work closely with other departments such as IT, Operations, and Quality Control to ensure smooth integration of digital solutions and process optimizations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Currently studying a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering , or a related field such as Data Science, Automation Engineering, or Supply Chain Management .
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint , with a strong ability to analyze and interpret data. Experience in VBA, Power BI , Tableau, and Python is a plus but not required.
  • Excellent command of English , both written and spoken. Proficiency in Dutch or German is a plus but not required.
  • Understanding of production systems , manufacturing processes , and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with digital tools , process automation, or digital transformation in a business or technical setting is an advantage.
  • Proactive attitude with a keen interest in digitalization and technology-driven improvements.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact and collaborate across multiple departments.
