DESCRIPTION

Performs routine and repetitive tests, set-ups, and calibrations in support of Instrumentation Engineering activities. The role involves understanding engine test plans, preparing instrumentation, and ensuring data quality through diagnosis and preventive maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE):

  • Ensure safety during work, including risk assessment preparation and LOTO.
  • Comply with HSE standards, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Promote interdependence by looking out for one another.
  • Engage in HSE training and report any work-related injury, illness, incident, or hazard.

Quality:

  • Perform routine and repetitive tests, set-ups, and calibrations.
  • Install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair gauges, transducers, heat exchangers, cooling systems, smoke meters, fuel systems measurement, and oil consumption test rigs.
  • Operate data acquisition systems and use general tools such as digital multimeters, soldering irons, function generators, and frequency generators.
  • Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Execute written test plans and report on test results in a specified format.

Delivery:

  • Prepare scripts for running auto test cycles and interfacing with various equipment like Indiset, smoke meters, FCUs, and CCUs.
  • Perform PID tuning of controllers with valves to achieve required set points.
  • Diagnose problems and breakdowns to ensure data quality.
  • Calibrate pressure and temperature sensors.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance of test cell equipment.

Teamwork:

  • Communicate effectively with the assigned team and all support teams.
  • Participate in improvement projects and self and team audits.
  • Interface with customers, suppliers, engineers, and other functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Qualifications:

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education, or equivalent experience in an appropriate STEM field is required.
  • Regionally applicable certification or a two-year Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field of study may be required.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

  • Requires some work experience and intermediate-level knowledge obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Understand engine test plans and prepare instrumentation for the test.
  • Awareness of engine testing software at test cells like PUMA and Indicom.
  • Awareness of ECM test cell harness wirings.
  • Awareness of engine ECM software like Calterm, ASAM, and License Configuration Tool.
  • Troubleshooting ECM fault codes.
  • Ensure safety during work, documentation, and analysis of data.
  • Good communication skills and knowledge of Microsoft tools.
