DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of sourcing data and present findings to Procurement and Supply Chain leadership to drive process improvements.
  • Act as a communication link between procurement and manufacturing teams, ensuring smooth collaboration with suppliers.
  • Prepare and present recommendations for improvement opportunities and alternative actions to Senior Procurement/Sourcing leadership.
  • Evaluate the consistent application of sourcing procedures and processes across functions.
  • Support vendor management, market analysis, process analysis, and model building efforts within the procurement team.
  • Lead analysis projects, providing coaching and support to less experienced analysts.
  • Foster strong relationships with suppliers to benefit the company's business goals, managing capacity, delivery, and issue resolution projects.
  • Assist in engineering releases and manage change processes efficiently.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Qualifications:

  • A college degree (or equivalent) in Supply Chain Management or a related field is required.
  • Licensing may be required for compliance with export control or sanctions regulations.

  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Implement changes in manufacturing processes, equipment, and applications to drive continuous improvement.
  • Procurement Ethics: Ensure compliance with ethical standards in supplier selection, sourcing, and management.
  • Procurement Policies & Tools: Master procurement policies, procedures, and tools to conduct efficient procurement operations.
  • Supplier Capacity Management: Manage supplier capacity and ensure alignment with Cummins' forecast processes for production and aftermarket demand.
  • Supplier Performance Management: Monitor and manage supplier performance through defined metrics and ensure alignment with Cummins' continuous improvement goals.
  • Supply Base Risk Management: Proactively mitigate risks to the supply chain using risk analysis tools and risk mitigation strategies, ensuring continuity of supply, reputational integrity, and margin protection.
  • Problem Solving: Use systematic analysis and industry-standard methodologies to resolve problems and ensure robust, data-based solutions.
  • Project Management: Manage projects by balancing scope, schedule, and resources, ensuring effective execution and realizing the project's impact.
  • Values Differences: Acknowledge the value of different perspectives and cultures within the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Strong techno-commercial knowledge and expertise.
  • Experience with stakeholder management and the ability to manage complex relationships.
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities, with a focus on preventive action.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents and drawings.
  • Background in sourcing and supply chain management for engines, cooling systems, and precision machining parts is an advantage.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards.

Experience:

  • Intermediate level of experience in procurement, sourcing, or a related field is required, demonstrating a strong understanding of procurement processes and supplier management.
