DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician to join our Distribution Business in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

If you are a safety conscious, self starter able to work with a level of independence, who is dependable, reliable, and pays attention to detail with some customer service experience-We want to hear from you !

This position requires both mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities with some great interpersonal skills. Working hours are from 7h30am to 4h00pm Monday-Friday. Some traveling in the northern region is to be expected.

On call rotation is necessary

  • Diagnoses and completes less complex repairs to generators and components at the customer's site.
  • Engages customers in a courteous and professional manner. Anticipates and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
  • Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete less complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
  • Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on power generation products in the field.
  • Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor
  • Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
  • Completes training in line with skill and business requirements.
  • Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Red seal certification in Heavy duty mechanics
  • Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products and electrical repair.
  • Intermediate level field service work experience.
  • Customer service experience.
  • High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.
  • Current relevant electrical certification
  • Locally valid driving permit This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience:
  • Minimal level of workshop related experience required.
  • High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience
  • Proficient with electrical and electronic troubleshooting
  • Must be willing and able to have flexibility with work hours
  • Must be willing and able to travel to remote locations via charter and commercial flights - often smaller aircraft
  • Solid computer skills such as web based diagnostics, research, Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Previous power generation technical knowledge and hands on experience would be an asset
  • The ideal candidate would possess an M limited electrical license (for power generation services)
