We are looking for an enthusiastic Packaging and Logistics Placement Student to join our team specializing in Logistics for our Corporate/CBS segment in UK, Daventry, Darlington, or Huddersfield. During your placement, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become a key contributor in the industry and power your potential!

Returnable Packaging is a key initiative in delivering Cummins Planet 2050 Goals, focusing on Packaging Waste Reduction, for a Sustainable future, therefore there's a strong focus on material flows, via inbound, internal and outbound networks.

This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence 2 nd June 2025

RESPONSIBILITIES

What are the Key Responsibilities and Challenges in this Role:

  • Digitalization of the Returnable Packaging Network, supporting RFID Equipment Tagging and System Implementation.
  • Collaborating with Process Partners to implement new Systems.
  • Collecting Supplier and Part Number data to support Current Returnable Packaging improvements and new Supplier Conversions.
  • Intra Cummins.
  • Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).
  • New Product and Sourcing activities, i.e. collecting the data to add new suppliers into our Returnable Packaging Standards.
  • Supporting Trials.
  • Updating Packaging Records and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
  • Run and present Reports to drive efficiency improvement, being a data lead exercise.
  • Coordinate new Operating Procedures documentation and training, building the documents for Standard Work.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Working towards a degree in Packaging Design/Business/Logistics/Supply Chain/Project Management/ related area.
  • Excellent IT Skills, in particular Excel and PowerPoint, PowerBi.
  • Previous experience in Supply Chain Functions.
  • Ability to understand and challenge data, to develop data lead decisions to improve Supply Chain Operations.
  • Create analytical reports to harmonize Processes.
