We are looking for an enthusiastic Mechanical Engineer to join our team specializing in Aftermarket Engineering for our (Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket Segment) in Cwmbran, United Kingdom). During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential! This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence 1 July/August 2025.

The requirements are to be fully onsite Monday to Friday for this role, with some flexibility, so you will need to be able to travel to the location.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Develop understanding of products relating to Commercial vehicle Aftermarket business globally.
  • Assisting with product validation testing including test set ups, procedures and results analysis
  • Learning aspects of component design, modelling and drawing standards
  • Working cross functionally to help with key business projects
  • Opportunity to interact with suppliers to better understand design for manufacture.
  • Opportunity to gain insights into manufacturing processes at Cummins facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • To be currently studying for an accredited Mechanical Engineering degree
  • Practical background to any engineering project is a plus
  • Keen to work and develop in an automotive organization
  • Good MS office skills and communication skills
