We are looking for an enthusiastic Engineering Plant Support Placement Student to join our team specializing in Engineering Plant Support for our Power Systems Business Segment in Daventry. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential! This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence 1 July 2025.

• We are looking for a wide range of applicants studying towards a STEM degree.
• Methodical problem-solving mindset with strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proactive and self-motivated with a desire to learn and develop.
• Experience with CAE tools covering design and simulation is preferred beneficial although not essential.

• The scope of work covers all manufacturing lines including Blockline, Engine and Genset assembly, Cylinder head, Engine and Genset test.
• You will be involved in conducting investigation work and working with various subject matter experts to form a quick solution which will enhance your problem solving, adaptability, confidence, and technical knowledge.
• Although mainly a rapid response team, you will be in charge of long term projects (Engineering Change requests). As part this you will investigate solutions, lead design reviews, analysis work, and see your solutions implemented on the lines.
• You will also promote a continuous improvement project focused on engine test to reduce the amount of engine issues raised once tested for shipment to customer, as a result of this, you will learn the facilities side of test cells and how parameters effect engine performance.
• Participate in team meetings to gauge and manage issues, sharing knowledge across the team to support with issues across Cummins sites.
• Once you have completed your placement with EPS you will leave as a well-rounded engineering placement student with broad technical skills and product knowledge and a large network base.
